Gionta+ Corrente/or Oduya

Probably a bad move, but I don't really know Minny's D-situation at the time. Corrente is a blue-chip d-prospect, Oduya is great for a 600k/yr player, and Gionta can produce well given a decent center.

Ok I'll bite, but this is only assuming Gaborik re-ups in Dallas.

To Minnesota:

Loui Eriksson
Matt Niskanen
Jamie Benn
James Neal
2nd in 09

To Dallas:

Marian Gaborik
MA Bergeron
Petr Kalus

I haven't seen a proposal that's even somewhat close.

I'm a big fan of Gaborik, but honestly, what do you expect for a injury prone player with one year left on his contract? Just look at what Florida got for Jokinen.

Even from a Canuck's standpoint, I would be hesitant to offer Kesler, Bieksa and a 2nd.

That's the thing, no one short of Pittsburgh is going to overpay for a soon-to-be UFA who might bolt after the season anyways. Gaborik would need to commit to wherever he's headed, or re-sign in Minny, otherwise the offers won't be overly substantial.

Why does every1 label Gaborik without any hesitation?

I understand why people call him injury prone, but why is it that no1 second thinks it whatsoever, even after a full season of play last year? He missed what 4 games?

Wild said to be getting ready to offer 8.5 million per year to Gaborik

http://www.startribune.com/sports/wi...lightModules:7

Quote:
While Gaborik, who is one year from unrestricted free agency, makes $7.5 million next season, his current contract average is $6.33 million.

The Wild plans to make an offer averaging in the $8.5 million range. As of today, if Gaborik signed any contract that averaged more than $7.8 million, he'd have the fourth-largest average contract in the NHL after superstars Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, and right above Brad Richards and Vincent Lecavalier.

As usual, Lynn will be captaining the negotiation cockpit with Gaborik's agent, but GM Doug Risebrough plans to be more involved.

Cogliano, Grebeshkov, Taylor Chorney and a conditional 1st in 2009 if he extends his contract to play with Hemsky and Visnovsky.

Sound fair if he rejects the contract?

I'm in the 5% and your proposal sucks. At least, the other ones were only about Gaborik and he has only one year left on his contract with no guarantee of signing where he could get traded. (See Jokinen) Brunette is a really good player. Him and Gaborik are worth way more than you package. Also, Minnesota is in a win now mode while they are rebuilding in Atlanta, which doesn't reflet in you proposal. Having said that, I'll get back to my joystick.

Probably Foster, we could really use a guy with his shot on the 2nd PP unit as well.
