Here's my own thought - there's going to be boos for Sax tonight, so what are the odds he walks off the bench at intermission, or just before, to find Gainey and tell him he's never going to play for this team again then stumble back by the coach who will give him the evil eye. No, no. That's just deja vu.
Even more interesting: in the heat of the moment, if the Habs score on the PP, what are the odds that Sax goes up to Ribs, pats him on the head and you can read his lips saying something to the effect of, "Enough of this nonsense, time for us to win games."
Finally, when the fat unintelligent yellow guys who are all beered up start to boo, how quickly before some of the other fans point out that Sax has been the only thing between us and the cellar for quite a few years, despite not playing much, and then go to town on the beery swines and start a few old-time brawls in the stands?
And how quickly before Gainey comes out and says the same thing he did at the beginning of the year.
I have this feeling I'm going to be ashamed to be a Habs fan tonight.
But through it all, I hope they can find their game. Hope they can fine their PP. Hope that Sax scores a few. Hope that Ribs scores a few. Hell, I hope they send the Flames home in a water balloon.
