Isles

Hunter-22 goals $600,000
Chow-21 goals-$800,000
Kvasha-$800,000 finally playing the way MM said he was capable of,after replacing the injured Yashin at center.

Also, (with some homerism) a lot of the Ottawa Senators... At least compared to the rest of the league, I'd say they're pretty much worth their $$$.

i hate to burst your bubble... but Selke consideration is something to brag about. and i'll use whatever to back up my statements i wish, so don't bother to try and tell me what to do. this is not a thread for arguing, so grow up.

I got to admit...2 Million for Luongo is amazing.

Matt Cooke($650,000)
Brent Sopel($475,000)
Mike Keane($500,000)

All Canucks steals.

I would put Palffy in that category even though he got hurt, but still he's been worth every penny ever since he's been here.

Best Values on the Kings (Plenty):
Visnovsky (850k) - IMO he's been playing like a top NHL d-man
Klatt (1.1 mill)
Luc(1.15 mill)
Armstrong(500k)
Frolov(1.1 mill)

And there are some more but these are the most prominent

As for Montreal:

Mike Ribeiro 847 000$ Fighting with Koivu (4.2), for best centre on the club.
Michael Ryder 605 000$ Calder Candidate
Steve Begin 400 000$ 3rd or 4th line center. PK specialist, hit hard.
Sheldon Souray 1,6 $ Ok not the biggest bargain, but he could double his salary
next time he sign a contract.

I was thinking the same thing, why post newer players who haven't had the chance for the big bucks yet? theres hundreds of them.

My picks that should be earning the big bucks:

Nasland
Iginla
Sakic

My picks that shouldn't be earning half of what they do!

Jagr
Weight
LeClair

It took 3 pages & a Flames fan to mention:

Markus Naslund - $5.5 million + bonuses that could take him to a maximum of $6.5

Easily the best bang for your buck amongst any of the top scorers in the last 3 or 4 years.

However, Martin St.Louis comes to mind as top scorer now that makes very little cash.

The other Canuck I'd say is Trevor Linden, who not only is a fine player on the ice, and is of great importance in the lockerroom, but also apart from Naslund is the face of the team, does an absolute mountain of work for charities and is an oustanding citizen (perhaps it's most beloved). He's also the President of the players union. I think Linden makes $2 million bucks this year.

That's base though. Kovalchuk undoubtably makes multi millions in bonuses each year though, so in reality it's probably more like 6 million a year for him. Still decent value, but not exactly a steal like 1.3 million implies. Any Thrashers fan know the exact numbers?

I've got it: (It's kind of old though, Dec. 1, 2002)

"The Kovalchuks don't have money worries. Ilya, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2001 draft and runner-up to Heatley for rookie of the year, made about $4 million last season in salary and bonuses."

Good find. So he made 4 million after his 29 goal, 51 point season. So he's probably an easy six million now, after two better seasons than that.

Moreau for the Oilers always put in a good effort. Nothing flashy, but worth his 1.5 a year, and unlike some of the players mentioned, will not be getting a huge raise in the near future.

Jason Woolley makes a little less than a mil ($975K I think), but he's been worth it. Also Draper. And I wouldn't say Pavel doesn't earn his nice little raise he got this year (from $675K to a nice $1.5mil)...he's been earning his keep rather well, I'd say. And not missed a game, might I add.

Can't believe how the league's most underpaid player isn't mentioned yet..

Jere Lehtinen is the Stars franchise player and one of the best players in the game. He's 30 and just signed a contract extension which will pay him like 10% more. While in fact he could've easily demanded Modano type money. At 2.8 million (in like his 3rd or 4th contract). Definitely Jere Lehtinen to me, no one comes close.
