I don't know why people think death penalty is much of a penalty at all. Yeah, the guy is dead and his miserable existence is snuffed out.

I dunno, but if I really wanted revenge, torture would be the only option.

One thing about child porn that is very disturbing is people change the names of shared files on P2P networks like Kazaa, causing people to download it unwittingly.

Now say you're in a randy mood and search for a Tera Patrick flick. The one you end up d/ling ends up being a renamed vid of some girl that appears to be 12 years old, but you don't know that. You haven't checked the vid yet and it's been sitting on your HD for a few days in your shared folder. When you do open it up, you quickly delete it but the evidence remains on your computer. Possession.

Since it's been in your shared folder and you left Kazaa up for a few days, people have been d/ling it from you. Distribution.

Interpol is observing this activity and your life is about to be turned upside down for good, just because you were a horny, unlucky sonofa*****.

(at least that's what Ice Poutine said he told the judge)

That's true. I've heard accounts from families of victims that said they weren't satisfied. The execution was too humane for them.

I don't think you can ever be satisfied in those situations really.

Les sept jours du talion de Patrick Senecal

Read it, very interesting book on a father, surgeon by profession, who decides to take it upon himself to punish the man who ***** and killed his 7 year daughter. He does it in 7 days, very intense and horrifying book. Troubling realism.

If you think this guy's a freak, read about this guy:

Quote:
"Biker gets 13 years for part in satanic killing"

by Dave Rogers ("The Ottawa Citizen," November 2, 2004)

A biker gang member was sentenced to 13 years in prison yesterday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit murder in the grisly June 1999 killing and dismemberment of Eric Thorne in Gatineau.

After the dismemberment, he took Mr. Thorne's head and propped it on a table while he ate his dinner.

...

"I got hungry, so I made pork chops," Mr. Osborne told the court.

"I grabbed the head, and put it on the table (because) I didn't have anybody to talk to. I told him I was happy to have killed him because he was ugly.

"I don't have a remorseful conscience," he added.

They've done experiments when a fake crime was done in front of 30 lab witnesses. Not one witness gave the same description of the criminal doing the crime; and that experience has been repeated often, humans under stress are just not reliable as good witnesses.

Canada is ****ing retarded when it comes to this ****.

How many people are gonna have to die because these criminals aren't hung/drugged/what have you before Canada decides to stop being ignorant.

These maniacs usually don't get out, they have tons of incidents in jail so they spend their whole lives in there.

Personnally, I find it worse that a child rapist usually doesn't get more than 2 years. IMO murderers, most of them, are not very dangerous individuals.. while pedophiles, sexual predators and violent recidivists are those who should get longer sentances.

I'm not gonna claim that I would have single handedly taken this guy down...but I'd like to think that I would have tried something.

To me it's a matter of testosterone + adrenaline. I'll often do stupid things without thinking twice. Not sure what I would have done in this situation, so I can't call these guys cowards. Things like these are what motivate me to work out and get me thinking about joining MMA gyms. In this day and age, you need to be able to defend yourself... (I think I'll start carrying a lead pipe in my back pack).

I wonder if they had a fire extinguisher or something they could've sprayed in his eyes to subdue him. I'm gonna get my gurda to bring some pepper spray with her everywhere she goes now (illegal my ass).

I've had a gun pointed at me and more than one knife waved at me. I disarmed guy once because he was a drunken dick but dont think that when it happens you can act clearly.

Whenever it happens, you act to protect yourself and loved ones, when your safety is not at risk and you're alone, believe me: you wont try to be the HERO...

Self-preservation is a force to be reckoned with.

When I worked at Sunoco a few years back I was robbed by a kid with a big knife. I froze, made a joke for some odd reason about how the 'money was all his' and then proceeded to hit the 911 button a million times. When I was telling the cops what happened (dealing with the cops was worse than the actual robbery) I couldn't really remember anything and almost thought I might have only imagined getting robbed and overreacted. It was odd.
