Jovo snaps on radio call in show

http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=72981

Some guy called in and said the Nucks were a bunch of clowns, so being the only guy left in Vancouver Eddy dials up the station and defends his boys. Good stuff.

Somebody should book Scooter for workshop.. Maybe Team Building, or Relieving Stress Through Humor and Activity.

Why get pissed off at what some clown says on a radio call in show?

Hey Eddie, you want people to stop calling the Canucks clowns? Then stop getting blown out by teams like the Wild. Since when do the Wild score 6 goals in a game, seriously?

Vancouver isn't making it out of the second round with Cloutier starting.

None of the goals were Cloutier's fault.

This was also on sportsnet..

Sportsnet.ca -- Say what you will about Vancouver's recent struggles, just don't be calling the Canucks a bunch of clowns.

Canuck blueliner Ed Jovanovski, currently out with a shoulder injury, made a an unscheduled phone call to the Team 1040 in Vancouver Friday to respond to a caller's comments made during a phone-in discussion. During his rant, the caller questioned the motivation of Canuck players and referred to the team as "clowns."
sigh, we need jovo back on the ice..

Cloutier has been our most consistent player this year, but we wont win the cup with him. Simple.

Fans have every right to call out their team if they feel their team is playing with no heart or desire. They pay the big bucks to go to the games. Jovo will stand up for his team and rightfully so, but if the Canucks think their fans don't realize when they aren't fired up or ready to play or go all out 100% on the ice, they need to wake up and realize their fans aren't stupid.

I dunno about anyone else, but I get this picture in my head of Jovo sitting in a chair with his arm in a sling. Nothing much to do, all alone. And phoning into radio stations. Just makes me laugh.

man i think everyone is overreacting. one win in five games is bad but every good team goes through bad stretches. i dont think that has anything to do with not giving heart. over 82 games your gonna be perfect. man i guess being a ranger fan makes you pretty tolerant.

You might not be far off, Vancouver possibly has the worst goaltending out of the playoff teams in the West.

Personally, I'm happy with our goalie tandem going into the playoffs and think it is equal to or better than the ones in St.Louis, Detroit, or Calgary. Cloutier has played well enough for the majority of the season. As of late he's been shelled, but it's far from being his fault; look at the crap defense and effort in general that the team is putting out in front of him. I'm much more concerned with the other 5 guys on the ice than I am with Cloutier or Hedberg... gotta be able to show up more than 25% of the time even if you can kick the crap out of the other team for that 25%.

The Blues still have Chris Osgood who melted down long before Dan Cloutier.

It's up in the air as to whether or not St. Louis will make the playoffs.

I hate the canucks, and I hate Jovo. But here's one thing I'm going to say. Good on you Jovo. You stepped up and showed the guy who's boss. I hate the guy, but my respect for him just went up a lot. He called the guy out, and that's exactly what needed to be done. The only negative thing I have to say about this is that Jovo went too easy on him. he really shoulda ripped the guy.

I think he needs to relax. It is perfectly natural for fans to vent after a humiliating loss. Best way to respond is to play better. And a radio caller calling the team "clowns" is hardly a personal attack.
