Preseason Thread

Thought we could use some updates on the preseason tournaments. Does anyone know a good place for boxscores? I can read a little Russian, I use metallurg.ru but I don't know if they are still going to have boxscores this year or not.

I see that AK Bars played Severstal in the first game of the Puchkov tournament, any info on the game would be cool. I'm interested in how Maxim Trunev does for Severstal, heard he played in the first game but not the second game.

Any other info on preseason games?

Thanks. I know metallurg used to have the boxscores, so I was hoping they would continue to do that. Is there another site that would give me the boxscores?

Oh, sorry, they don't have boxscores. Well I've searched for a while and couldn't find anything what you want. Though you can visit such link as
http://news.sportbox.ru/Vidy_sporta/Hokkej/KHL
There is actually news but most of them are game boxscores.

A) Why would Lada play such a low team?
B) That isn't Denis Bodrov, I heard he was close to a deal with Philedelphia?

There is a pre-season tournament taking place in Riga this week. Riga Dinamo has two wins thus far. Here are the box scores (you can also see the rosters below):

Riga Dinamo vs Habarovsk Amur (August 2):
3:2
link: http://www.dinamoriga.eu/zinas?zinaId=64

Riga Dinamo vs Minsk Dinamo (August 4):
5:1
link: http://www.dinamoriga.eu/zinas?zinaId=71

Riga Dinamo will have another game on August 6 vs Baris Astana. I am not sure about the scores of the games between the other teams in this tournament.

I didn't see Matt Ellison on the roster for Riga in either of those games. Why isn't he playing?

Filatov is playing for CSKA2 in the pre season. So what? It is what it is - guys practicing with the teams that they grew up on.

I wouldn't bet that it was indeed Denis. Possibly-or even likely- it might be Evgeny Bodrov, a young center of Lada:

By Alessandro's report (he visited Lada's camp in Germany) Denis Bodrov is very very good now. I think its him who scored 2 goals.

Cherepanov with a hatrick plus Jagr netting two assists in a 6-3 win for Avangard Omsk over a Slovak team called Skalica.

English translation of game notes.

According to this article of August 1, http://www.dinamoriga.eu/zinas?zinaId=62
, Matt Ellison has gone to Canada for personal reasons and will return to Riga on August 6. I doubt he will take part in the today's game vs Astana Baris but should certainly play in the Tampere (Finland) exhibition tournament (13-15.08)

Love to; as a Rangers fan (Cherepanov), a Jagr fan and a general hockey fan I plan to try and follow Omsk as much as possible this, they are my KHL team and hopefully the KHL will take off.

Yep! So far so good, Dinamo Riga is progressing along nicely although I guess neither Baris, nor Minsk have settled their rosters while Dinamo pretty much has the whole team playing together. I think it is more or less clear that Riga will not be the worst team in KNL this year.

Interesting game as there were some five fights. Julius Shupler noted in the post-game press conference that he couldn't remember a time when a team trained by him had five players penalised for the rest of the game.

Here is the box score:

I hope that isn't Astana's real goalie because he sucks.

Spartak defeated Avangard 3-2 today.

Jagr turned out a goal and an assist in the losing effort, no points for Cherepanov.
