Sundin still not close to making a decision

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=245315

The chances of seeing Mats Sundin back with an NHL team anytime soon remains remote as his agent JP Barry told TSN that his client "isn't close" to making a decision on his playing future.

Reports circulated that Sundin was set to make a decision on August 1st, however that deadline passed without a word from the Sundin camp.

It has been widely speculated that Sundin would play this season, it was just a matter of where, however Barry says Sundin is still strongly considering hanging up the skates for good.

"The longer it takes, who knows? He is deciding whether its time to retire or not," Barry told TSN....

This is getting really, really old.

He can take as much time as he needs. I think it's a luxury that is provided to a player that has given so much to the league - and the sport.

All teams hanging on him - don't put all your eggs in one basket. It's a simple, stupid cliche that just keeps on proving to be dead-on accurate.

So this guy still doesn't even know if he wants to play yet? What a drama queen. How long does he expect these six teams to wait for him?

This sounds like S.Niedermayer and Selanne from last year.

I wonder if he's even training right now. When he finally does decide he could be in crappy shape.

WHO CARES!

The only people I know that talk about this are the media, not the fans! This is becoming Forsbergesque and quite frankily, most people don't care. Just stop, until he decides or better yet, just stop.

he needs to quit changing the decision date and decide on a decision day to make his decision already.

He's had four months and counting now.

Boy it would be funny if he decides around late August to retire.

I'd lol so hard.

What do you think? They'll wait as long as it takes. Foolish move, but I guess in their eyes he is a 20 million dollar man now.

I hope he retires soon so Gillis can get moving on filling the necessary spots in our top 6.

He'll do that with the likes of Jesse Schultz, Jason King, only this time with names like Jason Krog.

Bingo.
There are only so many offensive assets out there.
If Sundin bails, then $10 millions can buy other help.
But the Canucks cannot wait much longer.

I know, wow... lol

What's he going to do? Train 2-3 weeks before camp? He's gonna be so out of shape.

Heh you talk like he is an all time great. He has given a lot to Leaf fans.

Outside of that, he is a star of the sport. Hardly anything more.

Some article I read today (The Star?) mentioned that his only workout as of late has been golf.

Well that would be completely wrong because in the last Sundin report JP Berry said he's in Sweden right now training with a bunch of other nhl'ers. This guy is a professional, how can anyone believe he's sitting on his ass this whole time? If he decides he wants to play then he'll be ready.

This is the first I heard he is working out. Do you have a link to that info?
