He is a UFA, he can take as long as he feels like. If the teams have a problem with that they can be pro active and go in a different direction.

Normally, this is when Sundin would be working the phones, making sure his countrymen know about the available ice. This summer, however, that task has fallen to someone else and Sundin, though he is in Stockholm, isn't expected to attend.

"He's not working out. It doesn't seem like he plans to, he's just golfing," said one source.

Nope, it was on the team 1040. JP Berry said several times that he's in Sweden working out.

I don't disagree with the fact that he has contributed a lot to the league and the game, but I really hope that he doesn't drag this out too long. But he's above pulling a Scott Niedermayer, so I shouldn't be too worried then.

Seriously, how is he even being a drama queen when he hasn't done anything? It's not really his fault that people are interested, and he doesn't owe them anything, especially johnny come-lately's like the Canucks.

It's getting to the point where people won't even want to celebrate your career once you hang them up. They'll just be happy you decided to finally make up your ****ing mind.

This dude takes even longer to make up his mind than a girl.

Impressive for such a big boy.

You're right, it's a shame that players these days continue their careers with a single team. That should definitely degrade their worth.

He's definitely one of the best to come via Sweden - if you debate that you can take it elsewhere.

It's pure bull (invented by The Star, who would guess).

The only involvement Sundin has ever had with the "free icetime" (provided by the national team) has been to use it.

Sundin (not his agent(s), not some news starved writer) stated in a direct interview that he has been working out daily since late june (his "fishing cabin" has a fully equipped gym, and so does his "summer house" in the archipelago).

Not because he had made his mind up but because he wanted to keep all his options open (and that it felt weird not working out).

There's a lot to question about Sundin, but if he states in public that he wants to be a member of a team from training camp and on or not at all. Then there's no possibility that he'll join later in the season nor show up unfit for training camp.

You're more likely to find the Pope wearing a baseball cap and bears using the toilet.

And this is not due to some "Honest George" syndrome, it's down to 10 years as the Captain of the Maple Leafs.

If he decides to retire he can earn even more money teaching media handling to politicians and other public persons.

He will not make a statement that can come back and bite him. He's far too sly and experienced for that.

I can't understand why Sundin is holding out like this when we all know he is signing with the Rangers

Sundin will probably make his descision 2 weeks before training camp.
