Super Homer Trade Proposal NAS/NYR

to NAS
Prucha, Rissmiller, Pock

To NYR

our 09' 4th, Klein

Why?

NAS isn't getting back Radulov/Sullivan and needs a top 6 forward (Prucha), some depth (Rissmiller). Us taking Klein means they need a 7th D (pock)

So supposing Sundin signs for $3MM the above trade is necessary to dump cap. In addition we get a guy signed for cheap over the next two years that has second pairing potential.

Frankly I'm not sure that fans of either team would support such a deal (and im prepared to get reamed for it), but it does create some REALLY interesting line combos for NYR

naslund-sundin-sjostrom - swede line
drury-gomez-zherdev
dawes-dubi-fritche
voros-betts-callahan
orr

staal-rozy
girardi-redden
mara-kalinin/klein

lundy

Thats a stanley cup caliber team right there if i ever saw one

Wasn't Jed put on waivers last season? I'm not sure but I thought he was.

What's the point of including Pock and getting Klein?

Rissmiller didn't sign in NY to get traded. Seems a little ridiculous.

And frankly I think Prucha alone could do better than our own 4th back from Nashville.

This poor ******* Rissmiller, SJ fans hate him and before he even gets a shift in the NYR uniform he is in every trade proposal. Like Trx said, I doubt we signed the guy just to trade him a month later.

yeah i know that its a faux pas to trade players you just signed, but i really don't know what the hell glen was thinking with giving riss 1 mill, not like we didnt already have 4 guys like him in the system who could have played for a lot less.

Counterproposal: Prucha for Radulov's rights

Nashville gets some much needed offensive help. Rangers free up a bit of cap space, and free up a bit of the forward logjam.

Even if Radulov plays out his full contract in Russia, he would still be a RFA if my math is correct. At the least if he decides to return or the KHL folds (or if the contract is voided), Rangers own his rights.

Low risk, high reward move imo.

How is it low risk? You're trading a guy who could be a top 6 forward this year for us and getting a back a guy who might never play in the NHL again.

I can't wait till these ridiculous trade proposal's stop.

Well, it's low risk depending on your view of Prucha. I don't see him ever fitting in Renney's system, and the longer we hold onto him and he squanders, the further his trade value diminishes. At this moment he's probably worth in the range of a third round pick. Remember all the Prucha for Seabrook rumors, man would I kill for that trade today.

Even if Prucha remains, I don't see him getting top PP minutes, where the majority of his points came. Frankly, I don't see him thriving under Renney, and I'm not even sure if there's room for him to have the opportunity to thrive. We failed to sell high... when Shanahan was brought in he should've been dealt. At this point I think too much damage has been done to his development for him to be considered a viable asset moving forward.

Nothing would make me happier than being wrong. I loved Prucha in his rookie year.

With the copious room the Rangers have on the bottom two lines?

i think Prucha and a pick(2nd) can get a good upgrade. as of now no, but maybe in the mid-point of the season if Prucha picks up his game.

That's exactly what i mean. Furthermore, I should have made it clearer, but this is something i only do if Mats is willing to sign with us for that ~$3MM figure. Anything more would necessitate a move of one of the big contracts (i.e. drury or gomez), something which I think we can all agree is a dumb move.

Hey if Peter Puck picks up his game theres no reason to move him.

No one ever questions the guys heart, effort, personality. He just needs to bury the puck more like a top 6 forward should

Why would you want to move a 2nd-rounder in what's considered the deepest draft in years? There's likely to be still some top-notch players available in the 2nd round, so I see no reason at all to move that pick, or any other, for that matter.

On the contrary, I think the Rangers should absolutely stock up on picks for the upcoming draft, in any way possible.
