whats a *** joke is all these replies everytime ESPN is contractually obligated to show things other than hockey. The only way hockey is going to get more days on ESPN is if they accept a lower Contract for TV, or they market themselves better to make the TV Package a worthwhile investment.

You want hockey, you phone them up. say you will MATCH what the Tennis Table Championships is paying them to show it on TV, and raise it 10%. Im sure they will take your Offer and show hockey.

Until then, SHADUP.

How does extreme table tennis differ from regular table tennis?? ESPN is a useless network. They rarely show hockey games and when they do it's a bad matchup and now they are slowly eliminating boxing from their programming.

I wouldn't exactly say ESPN is "useless" simply because hockey isn't top billing. Should they not be commended for their programming diversity?

Exactly. I'm a newer hockey fan so tradition doesn't mean as much to me as it might others but I don't really give a flip about an original six match up if one of the six is the Blackhawks.

Everytime I've tuned in to watch a game on ESPN this year the matchups have been horrible. It's Detroit and some bottom feeder practically every week.

Okay, maybe they aren't useless. College football coverage is good and I just can't contain myself when I'm watching the 56th repeat of the "World Championship of Poker".

I'm a big boxing fan and they are phasing that out and their NHL coverage is just a joke. The NHL has plenty of problems on their own but the matchups ESPN showcases certainly isn't going to bring in any new fans, eventhough some of the games turned out to be much better than advertised.

Oddly, I don't mind watching poker. At 10:30 in the morning between classes, its fine. Of course, when they do things like play it instead of an actual sporting event, I have a different opinion.

They are worthless. You can't even get scores highlights or trades off the bottmline and Sportscenter is essentially NBA2night.
