Yeah, that pisses me off. It gives everyone in the city a bad name.

This doesn't give the city a bad name at all. It gives thiefs a bad name, big difference. People need to stop feeling shame for the actions of complete stranger. It's the same for the riot, it's the same for this and it's the same for idiots in the media.

Besides, Iggy and the crew and still collecting royalties from albums they made forty years ago, I think they're ok money-wise.

does anyone know the last time Iggy played here before Sunday? I think i heard it had been 20 years.

I went to the show just for him, and it was amazing. **** like this is what makes bands avoid our city. This isnt the first time a well known band has there stuff stolen in the city.

Thank god i went to this show and not testament. Im sure they will come back, Testament that is.

DOWN ON THE STREETS

for real

whoever did this, i hope they get caught, jailed, fined and thrown out of the province

Yeah, exactly..

I can already see this scenario happening :

Mats Sundin is in montreal to discuss with GM Bob Gainey for a 2 year contract, they meet and have serious talks. after the meeting is over with all the paper ready to be signed.. he noticed his Car was stolen with is famous jackstrap inside.. thats it, he takes the contracts and burn it.. he then signs for Los Angeles Kings

I heard that Latendresse was actually a witness of the crime scene but he was too slow to act in time.

Uh, no, it gives the city a bad name. Do you think the Stooges are ever going to come back here now? What, are they going to say when they're firming up their tour schedule for next year or whenever, "oh it was just a couple of thieves in an isolated incident, it probably won't happen again, let's do it"? No, they'll say "Montreal, that's where we got $10,000 worth of gear stolen, **** that". And it has nothing to do with the Stooges really, it could be any band thinking of coming through here. It reflects poorly on the city as a whole. Just like the riots did.

And your second comment is so stupid I'm not even going to bother replying to it.

Shame !

Just goes to show, you're never too much of an icon to keep people from ripping you off, in Montreal or any place else.

Cranky. Someone put sand in your vagina?

Of course, there's disappointment, but it's only gears, it's more of a logistic problem than anything else. Let's see what the manager thinks of the whole thing:

Quote:
«C’est un mauvais point pour Montréal : on a fait un concert exceptionnel, dont tout le monde va se souvenir, et on se fait voler notre stock!», déplore le gérant. Que les fans du groupe se rassurent : il en faudra plus à Iggy Pop and The Stooges pour rayer la métropole de ses tournées. «On va revenir, plus forts que jamais!» , nous promet Eric Fischer.

See, we're both right.

There's enough cameras around these days that the Authorities might be able to get a few shots of the suspects & even track the trucks route if they were stupid enough to take the autoroute.

A Yellow truck with Michigan Plates sticks out like a sore thumb.

Haha "it's only gear"...you're clueless. Mike Watt's bass was in the truck that was stolen, and I believe it's the same bass he's been using since he pretty much started playing music. Why don't you try telling Mike Watt "it's only a logistic problem"? I'm sure he'll see it your way. And hey, what's $10,000 out of a band's pocket, right? They must be millionaires by now! Get real.

As for what the manager says, all that means is that you're an easy sell on an blatant P.R. line. Let's just wait and see how quickly the Stooges do come back to "conquer Montreal". I have a feeling it'll be a very long wait.

Mike Watt's "little bass" isn't just gear. Trust me. He must feel so horrible.

I hope they catch that *******.
