Lions owner Gerd Schroder suffered a stroke

According to BILD Frankfurt Lions owner Gerd Schröder suffered a stroke just one week after his father passed away. There have not been any information about the severity of the disease yet.

@zecke: If you believe, the topic is not worth its own thread, please move it to the general information thread.

i still wait for a lions thread by ALF, but since it's an all german board now, we can have threads for every important topic.

and this one is important. i hope schroeder gets well soon. while i don't like most of his actions regarding the DEL, he's done a good job in frankfurt and seems to have the passion for the sport. and after all, he's a human being. so get well gerd!

I second that, in particular for the Lions.
He certainly has his flaws, especially his ignorance of the Young Lions and promotion of young hockey in general, but I do not even want to know, what hockey in Frankfurt would look like, if Schröder had not taken over the reigns from Gisela Thomas in 1997.

That I wish him all the best is obvious.

Quote:
Denn mit Schröder steht und fällt Eishockey in Frankfurt...
For this phrase I do not know an exact translation but it means that hockey in Frankfurt is conncented very closely to the person of Schroder.

From today's Frankfurt Rundschau:

Seitdem ringt der 49-Jährige um sein Leben und ist in ein künstliches Koma versetzt worden. Wenige Tage zuvor war sein Vater gestorben...
The doctors keep him in artificial coma. Days before his father died...

Another newspaper (Frankfurter Neue Presse) quotes Lions managing director Bernd Kress, who describes Gerd Schröder's current state of health as "dramatical".
Moreover he states, that all operating issues concerning the Lions rest for the time being.

His family decided not to inform the media about his state of health.
