Kings fan here, and while I was sad to see Lubo go, I was happy with the return. If Stoll can get back to his old self, he is a huge addition to our team, plus we needed that second line center. And a physical guy like greene is what our defense needed.
What is the general concinsious among Oiler fans? I think you guys are getting an allstar in Lubo, I expect him to have a great year for you next year.
(Be warned though, he is not a physical player, so dont expect him to hit much)
Absolutely I'm happy with it. We got one of the best defencemen post lockout for a struggling 2nd line center and a 6th/7th d-man. I wish them the best but I'm stoked to see Vishnovsky on our blueline.
Happy with the trade at this point. We have a glut of top 6 forwards and Stoll just wasn't performing like one. As for Greene, we will miss his size and potential as a big shut-down d-man, the D corps is just as crowded as the forwards.
Really hope that Lubo regains his all-star form and Greene and Stoll (re)gain their form.
Delirious. I thought about this a couple days ago, how I still don't truly appreciate what an outstanding trade that was. How many awful trade proposals have we seen involving one team's spare parts for one player who is clearly the best player in the deal? Granted, Stoll and Greene were among the best of our "spare parts", but make no mistake - 95% of Oiler fans would've laughed at anyone proposing that trade before it happened.
Aside from the fact that my Matt Greene jersey is now 'vintage', yes I'm quite happy. Not every day you can add one of the top 3 point producing d-men (over the past 3 seasons) in the NHL for 2nd line/3rd pairing players.

That trade had the feel of a salary dump by the Kings. Stoll is a good player but, as has been stated, is injury prone. Greene has promise. Visnovsky was brought in for his puck movement not his physical presence. So yes...happy with the trade.
BTW: Sweet avatar!

We traded our number 6 defenceman and our third-line centre (who was widely believed to be out the door next year anyway) at a collective cap-hit of likely $3.0-$3.5 million for a defenceman who instantly becomes our number one, signed for 5 more seasons at $5.7 million?
Very much so, an absolute steal for us, taking advantage of a bottom feeding team looking for that high draft pick. Very small price to pay for a defenseman of Visnovskys' caliber. It would have been real nice to have Visnovsky, and keep Pitkanen though, all of a sudden our D would be looking real solid heading into next year.
I hate trading young talent away but in this case im pretty happy. Vish is a top offensive guy and those are hard to come by. He will have a big year this year. Stoll was expendable with the play of Brodziak and Greene was expendable with Peckham's play in the minors.

Oh hai, thx for allstar Visnovsky! Oh and don't expect much from Stoll and Greene at all.
From an Oilers perspective, how can you not be happy? They easily got the better player in the deal and makes the team better.
Kings came out looking almost desperate to fill in some much needed holes.

I´m not unhappy. I really liked Greene and Stoll, so i´m a bit sad that they´re not in the team anymore, but the return is pretty decent, so i can´t complain at all.
