Montreal is a small market team. Hence montreal can only afford small players. You ever notice that the size of your team is reflective of your teams financial situation.

I liked it too. He tried to mention the Big E but got cut off. Koivu is a great ambassador for the game. The fans need to show Koivu some respect as he is our captain.

Plus i like the way he called Ribiero a "sweetheart player"

And he added Koivu signs the most autographcs out of everyone!

Yea I agree. Man that has to be one of the best Coaches Corner a have seen in a while. I was actually agreeing with evrything he said. Looks like the 7 second delay was a good move. Did you notice though he called Saku...I think it was Sako

Cherry may be an ass, but if he likes you he will defend you. Koivu is a small skilled player (European even) but doesn't back down from anyone and is great off the ice to the fans and for the habs. Cherry loves those qualities in a guy, I applaud him for it.

I don't think he is trying to smoth things over with the French Public...that isn't Don's style...its off the cuff no matter what.

Cherry called them... "Komohosky" and "Ponosky".

He also calls him "Sako Kovoia".

The only names he can pronounce are of the Irish descent.

It's great Cherry stood up for Koivu, but if anything, this might make the booing worse.

No Souray and Markov. probably your top 2 really makes you weaker. Plus we are really in need of a big centreman on this team.

Yeah, there is no denying the fact that we are hurting right now, but a performance like tonight is still inexcusable. I expect a major trade if we get beat 6 or 7 nothing....

There we go again. Because a guy whom everybody called an arse on this forum last week, is now a guru because he defended your hero. Be more objective in your evaluation of a hockey commentator, please. Either you like the guy, or you don't. It should not depend if he sides with you or not.

By the way, Cherry can talk all he wants about Koivu. He's not close to the team. He doesn't know what's brewing. Just like you and me.

All is not black and white.

Small market teams don't pay 50+ millions on payroll ( last year ) The habs are in the middle of the pack just behind the high spenders....

Awesome fight. Excellent job by both Rivet and Marchment and good job by both not to just fall over.

Rivet landed more blows but both ended the fight covered in blood and still on their feet. Good job.
