Ok so heres the deal, I'm a fairly new hockey fan. Have only been watching seriously for a couple years, because none of my family or friends are interested in hockey. I was born in Vancouver, partially raised in Toronto, and now live in St.Louis. Since starting to watch hockey I haven't really had a number one team. I've always felt a hometown pride in the Canucks, but also love the history and tradition of the Maple Leafs. I have casually been a fan of both but now feel a need to devote myself to one team since I can't really go on being a big fan of two teams forever(or can I?). I know I will always cheer for both but I need to choose one as my #1 team. So who do you think I should choose and why?
PS: And I am most probably moving to Vancouver next year so take that into consideration.
If you are moving to Vancouver, be a Canucks fan.
That way you won't be annoyed by them. No offense to Nucks fans but the majority of you guys are annoying! I know I live in Vancouver, so most of my good friends are Nucks fans. Doesn't work out so well when you are an Avs fan.
being a fan of both is totally out of the question and I would deffinatly pick the nucks b/c the leasf are just awful and if you're moving there next year you won't make too many friends if you're a leafs fan haah
ok, if you are a leafs fan, the majority of the leagues fans wont like you and if you are a vancouver fan, you will have to stand up for luongo and his huge pads.
I voted Vancouver but I personally don't know how anyone could be a fan of either team, especially Toronto. If I were you I would start watching other teams. Vancouver and Toronto hockey is very boring to watch.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
Neither? Being in Calgary these are 2 of my most hated teams.
If you are going to be in Vancouver for a while though I've always found it's best to be a fan of the local team. Especially if you are in Canada and your other team is the Leafs. Trust me, you will take a lot of **** walking around anywhere but southern Ontario being a Leafs fan.

Part of the gig.
Be a fan of the team that makes your heart skip a beat whenever they have a scoring chance.
Yeah, I guess if I'm moving to vancouver the smart thing to do would be pick the 'nucks.I havent been to happy with the leafs this past offseason anway. I still fail to see how getting rid of every player with an ounce of talent and bringing in a bunch of 3rd line grinders and a dude named finger constitutes a rebuild. But on the other hand the 'nucks new jerseys do kinda suck....anyway in the back of my mind I know I will always be cheering for both teams but will be more a canucks fan since I will be living in vancouver without knowing anybody and I dont want everybody to hate me
And to the suggestions of cheering for the sens.. part of the reason I want to stay a leafs fan is so I have a good reason to hate the sens
