Wasn't it on a weekday last year too? Is that always the case? I wish it was at least on a friday...2 hours each way is just too long to drive on a work day.

No it was on a sunday and only a few hours before Broncos/Raiders at Inveso Field. That's just a battle an Avs intersquad game can't win.

I love the Avs, but sometimes management is just totally inept at making a connection with the fans.

oh yeah! got my seats a couple rows behind the benches

edit: if anyone's interested in going too, here's the link and code for the promotion:

http://ev12.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncomm...DAT=&caller=PR
promotion code: AVALANCHE

or you can wait til the 18th...the Cadet Field House isn't that big

Just a quick question...is there a particular reason for the AVs to play the Burgundy & White game elsewhere? Why not at the Pepsi Center? Or is it simply too large a venue? I'd imagine with proper publicity they could get more butts in seats by holding it there if they would offer free tickets to season or package holding members and then put the rest up for sale for say 10 bucks.

I would imagine they play it elsewhere for the publicity they get from it, and as a nod to the fans - in this case the large number who reside in the Springs.

what about Loveland / Fort Collins? BEC would be a good venue for it too.

The Avs at the BEC wouldn't be completely without precedent...they did play a pre-season game up here right when the Arena opened. Maybe in the next couple years, we'll see them up here again.
I would settle for the game being on a weekend night so I can re-schedule my life around hockey.

Wow, one row behind me, cool. I will turn around and yell "Horsehouse, where the hell are yah" about 10 minutes before the game starts! Look for the older guy wearing an Avs Burgundy jersey shirt and matching Burgundy and White AVs cap. !

Yikes, be careful with that. Only one letter off from yelling out an obscenity and getting kicked out of the springs!

Getting kicked out of the springs is a bad thing?

Whoops, that was a typo, nothing "obscene" intended. I edited my original post.

I'd be more worried about the AFA personnel than getting kicked out of town
