Well in my standings the Rangers, Devils, and Isles fail to make the playoffs, the division has gotten weaker for sure.

The division's gonna be a lot tougher than that, man. It has been for some time. I wouldn't be surprised if anybody but the Islanders takes the division. However, since I'm a Pens fan, of course I hope/project them at the top... just not with that much of a cushion.

1. yPittsburgh - 106 pts
2. *New York Rag. - 101 pts
3. *New Jersey - 99 pts (they never go away )
4. *Philadelphia - 93 pts
5. xNew York Isles - 71 pts

y - Clinch Div. Title
* - Clinch Playoffs
x - Golfing/Lottery Fun

And just for fun:

*East*
1. Pittsburgh
2. Montreal
3. Washington
4. New York R.
5. Ottawa ----> (my "surprise" team... for some reason, people aren't taking them as serious.)
6. New Jersey
7. Philadelphia
8. Boston
9. Carolina
10. Buffalo

I think they are going to be soooooo good.

They Devils are going away, things are going to get worse there before they get better. Rangers are in no way a lock for a playoff spot. The Isles? lol no way

That leaves the Flyers and Pens..........the Pens should easily take the division. They are by far the better team, it's not even close really.

Because they have more than two legit scorers who show up every night?

And also lines 1-4 they are just the better team. If Fluery didn't have a fluke run they have a goalie and they are on thier way to a cup.......err a lot of them.

The Penguins, the same team that we had no real problem with last year UNTIL they traded for Hossa, are going to be that much better than everyone?

I highly doubt it.

Very unimpressed with that team as a whole and I think they will be taking a step back this year.

I don't think so. There are 9-10 playoff contending teams right now.

Tampa Bay
Carolina
Ottawa
Flyers
Rangers
Devils
Caps
Penguins
Canadians
Boston?

With that many teams with decent teams, It should be more competitive and 88 should be the cutoff for the playoffs...

Off the List...
Atlanta
NYI
Toronto
Florida
Buffalo

A lot of guys left the Atlantic, damn I think the SE is going to be a tougher division than the Atlantic this year. Devils are on the slide, Isles suck, and the Rangers are most def on paper a weaker team this year. The Pens and Flyers are the top teams in the division the way I see it.

I mean does everyone just agree that we will be good to avoid a facepalm? LOL C'mon I know Ranger fans aren't this super homer are they? How can anyone think we are close to being as good as the Pens? Last year with a much better lineup we weren't as good as then were we? Now take away Jagr, Straka, Avery, and Shanny and we are better? Look at the talent on the Flyers and Pens and look at what we got, tell me i'm crazy for thinking this. Just solid lineups

Nice list, the only change I would make is switch Buff with the Bruins and it's perfect.

We went 3-3-2 against them last year. They aren't THAT much better of a team. The team took a huge step forward after acquiring Hossa.

They simply are not that much better than our team is.

obviously you didnt understand why i did a facepalm did you. You highly, highly overrate the Pens byt giving them 118 FRIGGEN POINTS! the highest last year was what 104 and you think they will surpass that by 14 points, even with losing Hossa, Malone, Roberts, Hall, Ruutu, ect. and only gaining Satan, and Fedotenko? if you do then man give me some of the stuff your smoking.

You forgot to put Tampa bay making the playoffs... Probably over taking 8th spot. Could surprise us and take a higher seed.

Ok let's take a look at their offensive power:

Crosby
Malkin
Sykora
Dupuis(?)

Now let's look at ours:
Gomez
Zherdev
Drury
Naslund
Dawes
Prucha()
Dubinsky

These are all the "consistent" forwards on each team. Pittsburgh also killed the chemistry of the team by trading Christensen and Armstrong for Hossa and not re-signing Malone.

What do I care how we did against them last year? This is this years team, it doesn't even resemble last years team or close to it. Why does what we did last year matter? Your giving all the credit to Hossa? I think Crosby, Malkin, Orpik, Whitney Gonchar, and MA Fluery are a big reason why they beat us in 7 games last year if you want to go by that which i'm not.

The Pens aren't going to win the division but the Conference.
