The search button is your friend bro.

You would've seen that there was alot of speculation whether Cherry would come to the US since Jagr's arrival in Omsk, Avangard.

I don't see him turning down an offer to play in NY with

A.) Jagr telling him he needed to work harder if his dreams to play in the NHL were ever to come true.

B.) Evidence of Cherry doing so right after Jagr's advice

C.) Mods....Lock it down

Wow okay, if someone bumped a Cherepanov thread, all the wanna-be internet hall monitors would be saying "OMG BUMP. MAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWDS!" Seriously guys.

Anyway, I reckon he'll come to New York, underachieve, then get offered a lucrative contract from Russia, bolt, and never be seen in North America again.

What have you read? Was it on the internet? Because all the magazines and year books I've read in Russian or in English suggest quite the opposite.

and really, how can anyone say Yashin or any nhl player for that matter is lazy? Do you see how much work they put in and during the games? Its anything but a lazy sport.

I am russian too. But I don't understand why russians are lazy. Malkin Ovechkin Datsyuk are great players and many more.

Cherepanov will come over to try NHL and play for the Rangers. In the long run he will make more money. Just needs to be a good player. If he is not then who cares if he goes back to the KHL.

If I was the Rangers I would wait until Omsk season expires and then sign Cherepanov to Maximum three year contract. Give him bonuses also. So Cherepanov might help the Rangers this season if he's good enought. Pray for Omsk to lose early in the playoffs.

It's a subjective statement that a professional athlete is lazy. It's comparing one to their peers. Are they lazy in general? Clearly not, otherwise they wouldn't be considered for the NHL let alone play in it. It's the same way I can call a co-worker lazy. They may still function at a high level but they can be lazy in comparison to other co-workers. I think most people in the everyday world would benefit from a guy like Zherdev or Yashin's work ethic even though they may be considered lazy by NHL standards.
