How many goals will Jonathan Cheechoo score this year?
Remember last year he took a long time to recover from double sports hernia surgery, so he wasn't able to be effective early in the season. But towards the end of the season after he was healthy he had a stretch of 11 goals in 14 games (also 17 in 24 games). So the question is, how many goals will he score this year?
Well, he scored 23 last season after having double-hernia surgery in the offseason and was rendered pretty much useless that first half of the season. Add in the fact that Todd McLellan should be implementing a more offensive-minded system, and he now has Blake and Boyle on the PP to gather rebounds off of, and I would say that yes, 30 is a lock.

I think he'll get somewhere from 40-50.
I think he will score between 30 and 35 goals, but its not a lock IMO..
You guys do all know that Cheechoo scored 28 goals in 03-04, pre-lockout, on the 3rd line with Mike Ricci and Scott Thornton, defensive forwards in the twilights of their careers.

Fair enough. 35 goals is probably the most reasonable, but I think anything less than 30 is kinda ridiculous considering his he scored 23 after double-hernia surgery and was practically immobile for half the season.

lol that is the kind of statement you would use when looking at a player in his prime playing with others in their prime. Not when a player starting to do well, playing with 4th liners scores 28 goals. Then follows that up with a 53 goal, 97 pts season. Yea he had down numbers, but that was due to injuries. As the last poster said he scored at 75 goal pace for the last third of the year. The guy has skills and has good players around him. He is going to get 35-45 goals this year.
