I'm going to be too busy to participate solo, but am willing to help as a co-GM, just let me know if you'd like to partner up.

i'd love to take another stab at it - i'll sign up as the...

kenora THISTLES

"...an early amateur men's ice hockey team based in kenora, ontario, canada and formed in 1885 as a senior team by a group of 'lake of the woods' lumbermen. the club is notable for winning the stanley cup as an amateur team in 1907. the town is the smallest in population to have ever won the stanley cup."

New Haven Nighthawks

The three-time Calder Cup finalists were affiliated with the NY Rangers, Minnesota North Stars and LA Kings over the decades of their existence as the latest of a long line of hockey teams in the history of New Haven going back to their team in the 1926-27 season of the Canadian-American Hockey League; that league and New Haven as one of the teams merging with another league to form the precursor of the American Hockey League. New Haven's nicknames changed from the Eagles to the Ramblers, Tomahawks, Nutmegs, Blades, Senators, the Beast and Knights but the longest running nickname has been the Nighthawks.

Here's a great book I've been reading on the history of hockey in that area:

Glad to see Murphy back.

For the 4th time (already?), I'll be managing the Detroit Falcons

I reserve one spot, but I want a Co-Gm. Actually, I'll try contacting a former partner in crime.

I also look towards having a disgusting team name, and there won't be any concept this time.

I'll be in again. And hopefully I'll have raleh working with me.

Good to see my old rival/sparring partner/friend Murphy will be back. Request that Murphy's Oilers be in my division.

Houston Aeros

The biggest name in the biggest market to never have an NHL team.

Disgusting team names? I'm good at those, but I'd just get myself banned when I create a logo for the Salt Lake City Abortions...

we've never done requests for placement

but if you be Calgary or some other Albertan team then it's a given they must be in the same division!

The name I have in mind isn't ... connotatively disgusting, like Salt Lake City Abortions or New Zealand Black ***** or whatever. It's just that what i have in mind would make a very, very back team name...

Might as well start the lobbying now....

Do we have to put up with the 24hr rule between picks for the first few rounds again.......?

It takes a month to complete the first round. Me no like that!!!

Do you really want to lose to the Oilers again GBC? I'd have figured you'd be trying hard to get out of the same division as the mighty Oil!!

I think the MLD showed that it's possible to get through with a really short window (we ran with 4 hours) and that was over the summer. It wasn't until the end when teams started missing their time windows, and at that point there wasn't much chance the player you wanted would be gone regardless. Four hourss is probably too short for the ATD, but there's really no need for 24 hours.

IMO, 12 hours for the first few rounds, since they make or break a team pretty much, and then 6-8ish after that.

So far we have teams in the following 11 cities:

Nanaimo
Edmonton
Winnipeg
Kenora
Toronto
Montreal
Buffalo
New Haven
Pittsburgh
Detroit
Houston

Not many West Coast teams so far. It'd be nice to have a Vancouver, Calgary and out east a New York.

24 hours - 1st and 2nd round
12 hours - 3rd round through 8th round
6 hours - 9th round to 24th round

I would do it approx. like that.

I'd have maybe 8 hours from the 9th until the 16th or something, but if we go with this schedule I'm personally perfectly happy.
