A bit weird that VCR didn't make the team. I know they've been dissapointed with his physical status before but it's been progressing through the season and I thought he was back on the national team for good this time. Even though he's not playing SuperElit he's been putting up decent numbers in J18 Elit but foremost taking huge responsibility and plays a good two way game.

Kind of agree, another notable player left out is Modos Gustav Backström that seems to be having a good season and was a regular last year. Other notables left out is Färjestads Alexander Henriksson and Växsjös Mikael Johansson.

I would have liked to see Rögles huge (6'05'') Axel Blomqvist that is having a good year productionwise in j-18 with 31 points in 20 games.

Care to elaborate regarding his physical status and why they would be dissapointed?

I've heard the management of the national team feels he wasn't good enough physically which effected his skating and work effort, I guess. From what I've heard he's been progressing throughout the season though and some info says he was cut out because of a sprained/broken hand.

Ah ok. I guess we're talking condition and not strength?

I've been kinda high on him since TV-Pucken, would suck humongous donkeyballs if it turns out he has a crappy work ethic

I definitely agree with you. VCR is the best or one of the best swedish forward prospects in a while IMO, with amazing vision and hands as his best assets. My opinion is based upon what I saw in TV-pucken last year though...and anything can happen after that of course. As an example, I was absolutely sure that Adam Pettersson would be a good NHL-player based on his performance in TV-pucken some years ago, but that doesn't seem to be happening...
Let's hope that he can turn things around again and become a Backstrom 2.0

28-28 in shots. Looks like typical swedish inefficiency again...

Sweden-Germany 5-2
02:42 SWE 12 André Burakowsky (4 Robert Hägg, 14 Tobias Lindberg)
04:06 SWE 10 Rasmus Fyrpihl (22 Victor Öhman, 26 Adam Winborg)
05:46 SWE 20 Leon Bristedt (22 Victor Öhman) PP
11:34 GER 20 Frederik Tiffels (14 Parker Tuomie, 5 Simon Mayr)
19:35 SWE 13 Tobias Liljendahl (19 Jacob de la Rose) PP
16:14 GER 13 Erik Gollenbeck (14 Parker Tuomie, 29 Leon Draisaitl) PP
17:10 SWE 12 André Burakowsky (22 Victor Öhman, 19 Jacob de la Rose)

I assume the key game will be against Canada atantic, if Sweden wins there they will advance to the semifinals. Losing big to Ontario isn't good, but the 93's did the same in this tournament 2009 and turned out ok.

Looks like Victor Öhman is having a great tournament so far, all over the scoresheet.

Let's hope he grows at least two more inches...
Have anybody here seen him play or read a scouting report on him?

Thanks for the update. With Wallmark in the line-up, Kevin Ekman-Larsson maturing and hopefully VCR bouncing back...then the 95-born look like a pretty strong crop.
