CBJ Fantasy Premier League

I'll commish League 1 again this year. There were 16 GMs last season, and we will be going with 16 again this year. However, the rosters won't be as deep. We can discuss which roster positions we want in this thread. Sticking to what we decided before last season started, the bottom two teams (Samkow's and Adam Hande's) are being relegated to League 2. Also, Matt Foley hasn't been around in ages. I think we should replace him. How do we go about doing this?

- Promote the top 3 teams from League 2

- Similar to the avatar draft, we can randomly generate a list of posters with the winner getting the spot in League 1.

- Something else?

Here are the 13 GMs that are carried over from last year, providing they still want to participate.

WrightOn
Top Shelf
Millions Livio
Double-Shift Lasse
QT McWhiskers
Macster
Dru
Cincy Cyclone Jacket
Dougknowsbest
Darrmd
Skraut
Kalliowehardlyknewye
CBJSlash

Also, the top 2 teams from League 2. (Who was that?)

The 16th will be the Foley replacement.

League 2's final top four:

*1. The Starflags (Matthew)
*2. willien's team (willien)
*3. Byrral's Boys (Byrral)
*4. Squirrelly Nut Job (Iron Balls McGinty)

I posted the top four because willien, like Matt Foley, has disappeared from HFBoards. McGinty is more of a lurker, but is still around, I think.

But if he is no longer here, Goliemon came in fifth place, making the top 3 people from that league who are still here me, Byrral, and Goliemon.

I'm in again.

I think we should go with LW/C/RW instead of general forwards we had last season. People could just load up on centers to win the faceoff category that way.

I was down near the bottom last year. I'll voluntarily contract my team.

I hate being an inattentive manager, but that's what I did in the past season and it'll probably happen again. Wouldn't want to hold back someone who may be more eager or engaged.

If there's a place available, I'd love to play. I'm already in a few drafts this year but there's always room for more.

I'm definitely interested and want to play if there's an open spot for me.

Voluntarily contracted teams should be replaced by League 2 teams where possible. New owners should start in League 2. I'm a hardass.

If I can figure out the draft, I'm ready to challenge the two-time champ.

I definitely got screwed by missing the live draft and having 3 4th string (I'm not kidding) netminders.

I'll avenge this..... provided I'm there for the draft

How come no one ever invited me back to the fantasy league after I won the 2006 season?

Either that or have the forwards be Centers and Wingers, since Yahoo is notorious for 'guessing' a person's position.

And seeing that I'm in the minority of having full rosters (like we did last year), with 16 teams maybe we do something like:

3 Centers
6 Wingers
4 Defensemen
2 Goalies
5 Bench

That's 320 picks, down from 410 like last year. Although I think you miss out on some fun of drafting diamonds in the rough (didn't somebody draft Mike Richards in the last round?), I feel that it will be more adequate to the problem of replacing players going on the IR with decent suitability (ex. I had to replace Joe Sakic with Niko Kapanen when Sakic went down).

Thoughts? I just love fantasy hockey like Fedorov loves broken sticks.

I haven't seen Millions Livio in a long time, maybe there should be a year posting quota

I liked the rosters last year Forwards and Defensemen, on any given shift in the NHL a guy could play any position and jump into another one a period later.

Yahoo also is very stupid in regards to this.

In regards to the faceoffs, people would just load up on LW or RW who take faceoffs but are not C in the Yahoo system, I don't think we could get away from this problem, other than to draft that as a value.

League 2 teams will be replacing the users who aren't around anymore and voluntarily contracted teams from League 1.

Millions hasn't been around in a long time, so I'm going to have to remove him from League 1.

Here's the final 16 GMs for the Premier League

1) WrightOn
2) Top Shelf
3) Double-Shift Lasse
4) QT McWhiskers
5) Macster
6) Dru
7) Cincy Cyclone Jacket
8) Dougknowsbest
9) Darrmd
10) Skraut
11) CBJSlash
12) Matthew
13) Byrral
14) Goaliemon89
15) cbjgrandview
16) MephistoIV

Of those 16, let me know if any of you aren't willing to continue. Matthew and Byrral are being promoted because they are the top 2 teams from League 2 who are still active posters. Goaliemon, grandview and Mephisto are the replacements for Kallio, Millions and Foley, who have contracted or are no longer active posters. Those three from league 2 are in order of finish last season and are still active.

When Yahoo starts registration, I will create a league and PM you with the League ID and password.

Wrong league.

You weren't in league #1. Hit up the right thread.

I really like that breakdown QT, you get the centres for FOs, and you can have all LWs if you wanted to for example.

Thoughts folks?

Looks good to me. I kind of lost interest part of the way through the season because there was nothing ever on the waiver wire.

*Ouch Mac! You gonna leave me anyone to play with this season?

Seriously though, anyone not on Mac's list that wants to play this season check out the League #2 thread and let me know you would like to participate.

yeah, I'm still here, just been extremely busy recently.

I'm interested in doing a league again this year. If the premier league is all full, I'll jump in the 2nd league again. its no big deal to me. I was running away with the 2nd league last year until i lost my top 2 scorers to injury when the playoffs started. talk about bad luck.
