Question (hypo) - a player (18-19 y.o) is in BCHL. Plays very well - gets noticed by CHL scouts. Can he sign midseason? What if he is an "import"?

Thanx in advance!

Yea a team can pick him up as long as no other chl team holds his rights.

Edit** - Listed on the site
Rule 16. How many Europeans can play in the WHL?
Each WHL team is allowed up to a maximum of two non-North American players. These import players must be drafted through the Canadian Hockey League Import draft held during the summer in order to play in the WHL.

SO i guess the player must be drafted by some team during the import draft or their not eligible.
