Do his rights still belong to Frolunda if he were to play in the SEL?

No. Last season he had a junior-contract with Frölunda. After last season they wanted to sign him to a contract with the senior team, but Anton rather wanted to play quality minutes with his hometown-team in the 2nd league than a few minutes a game in the SEL. He has a contract with Bofors and no other team holds his rights. In order to play in the SEL he would have to be loaned out from Bofors.

Bofors beated Nybro 6-2 yesterday. Anton centered the 2nd line but left the ice pointless.

is the plan for him to remain with Bofors next season, or sign with an SEL team?

He's going to make the jump to the SEL.

I'm not a big fan. There were some players on the board I think they should have taken instead. His health concerns are really telling. But I don't think it was an awful pick. He fills a need as well in the prospect pool. However, the concerns about him make me iffy on whether or not they should have taken him.

But, he does have higher potential than most others around where he was picked. The team has enough prospects and a 3-4 year window where they can gamble on his selection. They don't need a good replacement #2 center for another two years probably. Laich can be serviceable or Fedorov/Nylander can stay for another season, and if he works out, he works out.

My take is, if we had taken someone else, say Eberle, Tedenby or Ennis-would Carlson still have been there for our 2nd pick?

Just getting Carlson makes me so happy.

If they would have taken Eberle, Anton would have likely gone to the Oliers so it would have played out the same...I'd think. Hard to say really...but I agree about Carlson being the plus of that day.

It seems Gustafsson isn't dressed for Bofors today?

Rosters for today's game.

He has only played in one of Bofors last 3 games. I´ve been trying to find out why, but Boforsik.com sometimes notes who is out and why, and sometimes dont.

Belated thanks.

Today's game starts at 1pm, I believe.

Updating box score.

Lil' Gus seems to be on the roster today.

Anton with a 2 min hi-stick penalty when Bofors lost 4-2 to Växjö Lakers earlier today.

This was the 45th and final game of the regular season and Bofors had nothing to play for. 10th place in the table, without chance of reaching the "qualification-series" to advance up to Elitserien and no risk of being relegated down to division 1.

Some personal stats for Anton:

Played in 25 of 45 games (missed games due to injury, sickness and camp/games with the u19 national team)
Finnished 12th on team in points with 6 goals and 4 assist (9th in points/game with 0.4)
Won 116 of 281 face-offs (41%, 4th of Bofors centers)
Scored on 18% of his shots (4th on team)
0 PPG
1 of 4 players on team to score a SHG
0 GTG
1 GWG (tied for 6th on team, 4 players scored 2)
+6 on the season (+12/-6), tied for first on team (9 of 29 players finished with a + rating)

edit: Anton has joined Frölunda´s J20 team for the rest of the season (apparently he was only "loaned out" for the whole Allsvenskan season, this was news to me)

I believe Jakob Silfverberg is a Cap draftee. He´s playing in Brynäs IF and has been picked up from the junior team to play in elitserien in the last couple of months. And he done it well. The last two games he has scored 3 goals and have one assist...

(Silfverberg is a noble name meaning "Mountain of silver")

No, the canal+ reporter after his 2 goal game asked him something like "You´re getting hotter for the NHL draft, your former teammate Nicklas Bäckström plays for Washington Capitals, how about getting drafted there?"

Gus with a 'charging' penalty in his first game w/ Frolunda J20, no points

The gus thread lives on. A charging penalty, very good. I like a center that will bring some force. I think Steckel and Gus is all we have.

from what I can tell (looking at stats), he was playing well in the preseason....have to wonder what would have happened had he not come over for rookie camp
