I don't do proposals very often but I thought i would give this a try.

To the Cats: Kotalik, Afinogenov

To Buffalo: Olesz, Boynton

(add picks to even it out)

Why: Buffalo has a glut of top 9 forwards, so trading AlKo and Max and acquiring Olesz would make our forward core even younger with more promise and make room for MacArthur (who looks like he may be the 13th forward when he is obviously NHL ready). Adding Boynton would add more veteran presence, although it probably would push Sekera and Weber down the depth chart.

For florida, I think this trade makes sense because Kotalik is a big body who can pop in 20 goals and cycle the boards and be physical. Afinogenov was plagued by injury and inconsistency a year ago but still has plenty of skill and promise. Max could easily put up 60 points if he could just stay healthy. I think that Florida's most glaring need is offense, so these two guys who just need a change of scenery would suit them well. That's just me though.

What do you think?

You didn't know that was an HF Boards special?

A recently acquired player by an NHL team becomes an instant asset to be moved here at HFB, in theoretical proposals that have no chance of ever happening.

It all makes sense in some faraway universe....
