O__O

Anyway, I believe butter is naturally white*, or yellowish-white, and colour is added. Same with cheddar cheese.

*depending on the season. The colour of butter changes throughout the year, and colour is added to maintain consistency with the product.

Yellow margarine, green margarine... Makes no difference to me, as long as it's unsalted.

Margarine was banned until Newfoundland joined Canada which always used margarine and was a big producer of it. It was outlawed in Canada because the dairy council had a lot of weight (and still do) in politics. It was not that long ago that the church and the dairy council were the most influential organizations in the country...actually...have things really changed?

Butter tastes way better but it is also high in saturated fat. While margarine is more chemical it is usually vegetable oil based and healthier...but that is a big debate.

Butter has saturated fats cholesterole and margarine has trans fats, which could be even worse. But, someone mentioned salt contents above, thats really the key.

I dont like taking chances, I use neither. Just fresh bread with other toppings is fine, once you get used to it.

Plus the taste of butter is soooo much better.

Nothing says natural like squeezing a large mammal's teats, taking a bucket full of cow cream and adding a crapload of salt.

Margarine is basically oil that's mixed with water, sometimes hydrogenated or combined with another oil to create different properties. Also, vitamins and color.

Is this meant to disagree with me or not, someone tell me?

If it is, what would you expect margarine producing company to say?

I used to work by a CNIB, and Tim's was across the street. The amount of blind people that would walk in ordering a double-double was staggering.

No, not anymore. Newer margarine have no trans fat, and actually have lots of insaturated fats.
