I don't think they need Lang. And might as well keep Halak to see if stock can rise

Pass for Montreal.

I'm not comfortable with Denis in net if Price goes down.. and Desjardins needs at least a year or two in Hamilton.

Could you imagine?

Marc Denis and Cedrick Desjardins as our goalie tandem?

Price and Halak have the potential to be the next Fuhr and Moog. I think they want to keep him, not to mention the Hawks have Bulin, and Lalime already.

Agreed. If Halak is traded, we need another veteran goalie in return or through free agency... and no we don't want Khabibulin!

Seriously, you may be on to something. No, I wouldn't see a one for one deal like that, but with other players involved, maybe... although intra-division trades are traditionally rare.

EDIT: Quick, someone email Eklund so it can be a e2!!!

1. Hawks would still be over the cap (not by much though)
2. We have no one else to replace Halak

Yes and Huet is now in Chicago. Chicago also have Niemi and Crawford not to mention their other goaltender prospects.

I wouldn't bet on that... he won't have the Lightning's defense in front of him this time around...

I think there are easier ways to get Lang that work in both teams favour.

Exactly. Just a 3rd-for-Lang would simplify, if Chicago is just looking to shed him for cap reasons.

Chicago can't afford to just dump Lang without replacing him. You can't go into a season with 3 sophomores and 1 rookie as your 4 centres if you want to make the playoffs. I mean if Toews got hurt again Kontiola/Bolland would be Chicago's 1st line centre. You could move Sharp back to centre i suppose but he has said himself that he prefers to be a winger and if you move Sharp inside Chicago would have terrible depth on LW.

Lalime plays for the Buffalo Sabres.

The Blackhawks signed Cristobal Huet.

Where have you been?
