Places where I wouldn't want to be stuck behind Mats Sundin:

- Voting booth
- Buffet table
- Fast food line
- Public restroom
- DMV
- Orderly line during a fire drill

we FINALLY have solid proof about what evreybody here already knows, Eklund is a clown with no info whatsoever, he's a fake, a phony, a Ferris Rox, a geek looking for attention. Thank you Mats Sundin, that's true addition by substraction right there

I can't wait for the day Eklund posts a rumor here by Sundin to Montreal (e5) mistake and reveals his true identity.

I still think Martin Havlat as a UFA at $6 million this season is smarter spending than that on Sundin. Marty wants to make money again, wants to prove he can play healthy and best season was in the East...plus Chicago over the cap and want to shed Havlat's salary.

He could be a Dandenault and a prospect trade, he isn't going to cost the farm if you know what I mean.

We have to address Centre, but we could do worse than having this;

Havlat - Plekanec - Kovalev (Czech countrymen in Pleks and Havlat to me makes sense in chemistry as well)
Tanguay - Higgins - A.Kostitsyn
S. Kostitsyn - Koivu - Latendresse
Pacioretty/Kostopoulos - Chipchura/Lapierre - Laraque

Higgins is a natural centre, try him at that spot...doesn't work...trade him for a centre!

If Lats and MaxPac break out and if Chip and Lappy look good, then Kostopoulos and Begin are expendable as well.

That top 4 looks good to me.

They tried Higgins at centre (once or twice, right ?) last season and quickly got away from it.

He just doesn't cut it at the NHL level.

Havlat would be like having Sundin for 10 games. Awesome.

Do you really think Chicago who is over the cap, Havlat who has been injury prone would demand high return in trade?

Based on his 39 faceoffs taken (less than .5 per game), plus the fact that I watch almost all 82 games and never saw Higgins play Centre unless Koivu or Lappy was thrown out I will call your bluff on that experiment.

If I remember correctly they first tried out Serge at center and when he failed they tried out Higgy (they just swapped their positions).

I think that this was when Koivu was injured at the very end of the season, but I'm not 100% sure. I am sure that they did try out higgins at centre though

They can still do better than Dandenault I'm sure they'd take a late round pick instead.

Kostitsyn-Higgins-Ryder started game 1 vs the Bruins, for what it's worth.

yah, so we know that he hasn't talked to gainey in a while, but has he talked to any other teams frequently during that span? That's what I want to know

Its a smart move by gainey to keep everyone's expectations of landing sundin quite low....quite a contrast from the route gillis took when he explained the canucks chances of landing mats.
