The Canucks will take Schneider and Marchant and the Ducks' 1st for the Canucks' 3rd.

I see one of three things:

1. Burke trades Schneider for a quick fix.
2. Burke trades some lower tier players (Neidermayer, Marchant, O'Donnell, Paulsson, Beauchemin) in a bunch for a pick and a prospect.
3. Burke orchestrates a big time deal involving big players to shake up the roster completely and open up cap room for the future (Like, trading Giguere...)

It's not a new development PPJ - it's been known for a long time that Selanne was coming back & the Ducks were going to dump salary. I doubt anyone here thought differently. You're making something out of this that isn't a big deal. Burke's been the guy holding his players in suspense, in any case.

Teemu rules !!!

Who are the odd men out now in Anaheim?

Marchant and Schneider?

The Selanne Solution:

Schneider to LA for a 2nd round pick
Marchant to Blues for a 4th round pick

Schneider and/or Marchant were gone regardless of Selanne's decision. To call him selfish because someone will get moved is nothing short of incredibly ridiculous.

So when was the last time you had to decide to stop doing the thing you've loved to do your whole life? There's a reason why these players take so long to decide because it's a life-altering decision.

But that's completely moot because Teemu Selanne is a free agent. He can do whatever he wants. The Ducks don't have to sign him and he doesn't have to sign with them either. But if he feels like he wants to keep playing and wants to play for the Ducks then it'll be so. Players get moved all the time, this is pro sports. It's unfortunate but these guys are pros and they can handle it. In fact if it is Schneider and Marchant who are traded they will probably be moved to good teams where they'll get more ice time. Neither one really has a spot on this team right now anyway. Both would be traded already if not for the whole Sundin fiasco.

What the hell are you talking about? Burke has made it clear all along that he is trying to move people in order to make room to sign him if he returns. See ya Schneider and hopefully Marchant as well.

Selanne laid low for Burke's sake. But Sundin stalling has screwed up many trades. Therefore, blame Sundin for his indecision, not Selanne.

Sounds like some sour grapes to me, poor Eklund, he can't make up anymore Selanne to Montreal rumors now

Schneider will for sure be going. Selanne will take another lower salary in all likelyhood.

Ryan - Getzlaf - Perry
Kunitz - Morrison - Selanne
Moen - Pahlsson - Niedermayer

Pronger - Beauchemin
Niedermayer - O'Donnell

Giguere

Geez....dangerous.

Gotta assume Schneider is on the way out. Whoever Burke's CBA guy is, he's good at it, they'll make it work.
