takers for Scott Young

is young tradable? he seems he could be expendable with the success of Oliver.

the lineup would like something like

Lehts-Modano-Damiao
Morrow-Arnott-Guerin
Barnes-Turgeon-Oliver
Ott-Corson-Downey

with Niko coming in and out of the lineup over Downey

just an idea

I'm sure the Blues might take him if the price was right(cheap). What his contract status?

I second that. How about a 3rd round pick.

I think the Canucks were interested in him when he was a UFA. His level of play has decreased dramtically since then, but he' still a decent player. He'd bring a lot of leadership and experience to any team he goes to, kind of like Steve Thomas did last year with Anaheim(although not to the extent of Stumpy).

I think Scott is only expendable if a deal for another forward goes down. He is versatile can see PP and PK time and can play up and down the line . If the goal is the cup I would rather have him than a pick. If he can be packaged with someone to fill a long term need and not just a rental then that is different. He is also streaky and if he were to get hot in the playoffs. Also I think he has played better recently. Doubt the stars want to help out the blues or the Canucks

I believe Scott Young has a NTC. But, if not I still don't see them selling him for prospects. They *are* only 2 wins away from 1st in their division and it's doubtful they want to start getting rid of guys.

Fair comments by all. How has Young's play been lately has he picked up the pace along with the rest of the Stars.

If you ask me, Young has always been pretty good. He gets 3rd line ice time, because Morrow, Lehtinen, Modano, Arnott, Barnes, Guerin, Turgeon and others are all just better. But, he's always been steady insofar as his forechecking, can absolutely smack the puck when he's open, and is decent defensively. I'd rather keep him than get absolute crap back for him in a trade.

Young is a good player, and would help a team through the playoffs. I think he would look good in St. Louis.

I doubt that any team would trade for him with his current contract.

He definatly would look good in STL, he looked fine the first time you just have to remember what he is. He is a streaky scorer who will play good in both ends and get you 20 or so goals a year. If you expect the 30 he got in his career years in Colorado and STL you will be disapointed. I would take him back.
