If not stop trolling.

There have actually been dozens of posts over the last week or two with Leaf fans expecting JayBo for packages built around McCabe and little more than Steen or a pick.

But, that is rather besides the point. It is childish and tasteless to taunt posters who misestimated the trade value of a player. The market is wacky because it is driven by contracts more than player ability.

Visnovsky wasn't even healthy that year. He had those 58 points in 69 games, would have scored closer to 70 if he had been healthy

All the players who did well in '06 but not so well in '07 and even worse in '08 are 'New NHL' players that relied on wide-open hockey and tons of powerplay time to succeed.

This would include powerplay specialists like Visnovsky. I wouldn't expect his numbers to go up in Edmonton. They're in the tighest defensive division in the league. Likely, his performance will be shades of Souray.

McCabe, on the other hand, has great potential to rebound in Florida. Their division is by far the weakest, defensively.

Boyle's numbers should be around the same, imo. Simply because he can play 30minutes a game. And San Jose has relied on the powerplay a lot in recent years. (But the coaching change might alter that.)

You mean miss 56 games due to injury? Ouch.

That's what I get for listening to Leaf fans I guess.
Taking up fiction I see.
There were no Leaf fans who made such a proposal. There were some who thought it possible to get Bouwmeister as part of a large package deal.
Cliff Fletcher did it once getting Gilmour to the Leafs 16 years ago and it is understandable why a fan base might hope for something similar.

Still it is weak to make up stories to bash a team's fanbase.

He was brought in for bigtime powerplay scoring. He scored 3 goals in 26 games.

Visnovsky: Also brought in for... Bigtime powerplay scoring. But he'll be shades of Souray. (severe downgrade in offensive output, due to a much, much tighter division to play in, among other things, like travel)

Meanwhile, McCabe will benefit greatly from playing in the no-defense SE. His multiple gaffs will be the norm.
