I don't think we have anything to worry about. McDonagh played and scored goal in Badgers intra-squad game on Saturday.
Watch Emelin live with Ak Bars Kazan at 11am (again! link inside!)
Well, maybe you'll be able to watch him...after hearing rumblings in the prospects topic that he might be hurt, we'll see.
Anyway Sportbox is showing Emelin's Ak Bars vs. Atlant Mytischi, which is the team Ray Emery plays for (don't know if he's starting though). The game is at 10:55am and the link will be active when the game starts

'Cause I'm too eager to see the NCAA season start......(again, anybody who can find me some easy to way to have those games being stremed, free of course, you will be my hero....). Until then, here's a little something, about Conboy and his first intrasquad game. He scored once. If you want to hear the coach talk about him, click on the post-game audio. Hearing him, would make you hope he'd be with us already.....
Bad goal by the Kazan goalie on the second Atlant goal but I have to think Emelin standing in front of him didn't help (he was trying to clear the Atlant player from the front of the net but ended up screening his own goalie).
Atlant just scored again to make it 3-0 but I missed it.

Emelin seems at his best on the PK. But 5 on 5, he seems tentative and wasn't that great on that last goal. Has to be wiser instead of being tougher.
Honestly.......and I don't want to sound pessimistic, but from the games I saw in Juniors, and last year, he seems to have regressed a little. Really don't know what it's all about. But anybody who'll place him on our starting lineup next year will have a big surprise coming....He needs to upgrade his play big time, in my opinion.
Ak Bars losing Morozov....when you think that things can't go much worse.....
He's a tough nut to crack. I'd never think of putting him right into the Habs' lineup no matter how great he looks in Russia...give him some time in the AHL to get used to the NA style.

What happened to Morozov?
You know those contacts at high speed against the goalie and then the guy flip flop and almost land on his head??? Well that's about it...don't know if it's clear but at one point I thought he had broke his neck. On the replay, he didn't seem to have land on his head though. He left on his skates being escorted by 2 guys....concussion or something else but it could have been way more dramatic.....
They showed the replay of another Atlant goal and Emelin totally blew his coverage in front of the net...the Atlant player walked down the right wing skating around Emelin's D partner (diving to block the shot) then threw it over to the left winger, who Emelin should have been covering but instead he was just kinda standing in front of the net and getting himself tangled up with his own goalie. Easy tap-in for the Atlant player.
don't mean to be off topic but what's morozovs' contract status?....he considered a ufa or still belongs to pittsburgh?....his stats are solid in russia:
I think he's UFA because NHL teams have made offers to him before...but it would basically take a colossal amount of money to get him to come to North America because he's perfectly content playing in Russia.

Rough game for Alexei today it seems...
That's what I'm talking about. He has never been so passive. He's not as involved as he was, rarely if not never takes any chances offensively. I don't know if it's the way they want him to play or if he was ask to cut down on penalties like he used to do with his slashing and roughing penalties, but it seems that without that aspect of the game, he lost his positional game in the process.
Anyway, it might be rough time for him. Let's see how it evolves. But if it keeps going like that, I wouldn't be surprised to see him being a healthy scratch.....until the end of the year where his team knowing that his contract is finished might start giving him the idea that he'll be playing a lot and that they care....(I know, my conspiracy theories....)
