I think I can safely say that the Blues and Red Wings will never again make a trade with each other...

(we already traded our 2nd to LA)

Detroit is in trouble down the road, we need picks just as bad as you guys do....if that happened then our upcoming draft would look like this

1st
4th
5th....

that's no good and as someone already posted, we wont do a trade with you

Just curious... what do you think St. Louis would need to trade Weight back to Edmonton and pick up some of his salary?

Heh.

I think I can speak for Leaf fans with a polite but firm "no" on that deal.

Do you really need to keep reposting this ridiculous thread?

It's straight-up depressing. And not at all a consideration. And as I said the last time you posted this, they'd still be losing money because no one would pay to see a number one line consisting of Cajanek, Mayers, and Rycroft.

I don't think the Blues would go into full rebuilding mode at this point. I also have a hard time believing that Pittsburgh would take on the salary of Pavol Demitra and part with a prospect like Ryan Whitney at this point. The Dallas Drake to Nashville trade makes sense if the Pred's are serious about making a splash in the playoffs.

Funny thing is, I only posted it on this board once.

I would still go to blues games.

That's getting closer. I was originally thinking that we would want to get Weight back in order to play with Smyth... but the offer is intriguing and Isbister would look good on Dougie's left.

What's the common feeling about Weight in St. Louis? He was revered in Edmonton... but he was never making $9M a year there either. Do fans generally feel he is worth the money?

Does anyone esle think that the Blues don't need to scrap everything and go into rebuilding?

Where would the team be if we had Mac and Jack for the full season?

We are still in the playoff hunt and may well make it - granted we may also get booted in the 1st round, but so what.

I think that we should trade Mel and Drake and Baron if we go into a nose dive and become sellers, but should we also trade players from the core.

I would keep Walt and Pronger, but I am torn on whom to trade - Demitra or Weight. Demitra is younger, cheaper, and more of an offensive player, while Weight is tougher and more of a total player. I guess it would depend on what we would get in return.

If the Blues lost every game between now and the trade deadline, they STILL wouldn't be far enough out to warrant throwing in the towel. Granted, some things need to change, but demolishing the team is not the answer.

The Blues have one game in hand on the 8th seeded Kings. If they win it they are in the playoffs based on having more wins. It's far too early and way too tight to throw in the towel.. The Blues will likely make it, management didn't fire the coach to wave the white flag.

So what would the Blues be looking for in a trade for Demetra in General?

At imes he playes awesome and in fairness to him he hasnt had quality wingers this year. I just think they are looking for better two way play.

If it were me a solid two way center or Winger and pick. Or a goaltender with the potential to start and steal games and a little something else.

Id rather dump weight. But if your going to dump Demitra, youd better get a decent player in return, a 1st, and a prospect at least. The guy is a annual scoring leader. Not to mention the complete offensive package(other than the power forward traits). And he is the best passer on the team (yes- better than weight). I have yet to see weight thread the needle through several players once, let alone on a regular basis like demitra. Not to mention you will be letting another 30 goals walk out the door. And he is the most affordable big dog on our team.(sorry , for the rambling, im obviously tired and biased). And its not that i dont like weight or enjoy watching his unique style of play every night. I just think he is the least bang for the buck , out of the top guys on the blues.
