Not when you are over here..............Lets remember Sundin has class as well and he will always do or say the correct thing.

Do people *not* want him on the team, or do they just feel like one bitten (Briere, Arnott, Shanahan, etc.), twice shy?

The only problem for me if Sundin comes in is if we don't win the Cup, everyone will blame Mats.

I dont want Mats in Montreal if his heart is in Toronto..............it just doesnt sit well with me nor what it could do to the rest of the team.

Like I said, it is possible. But unless you have some inside information you're not sharing with us. You're speculating just like the rest of us are.

Yep I am just going by what I have read and heard from Sundin............and he sure hasnt hinted anything but saying he loves Toronto to death.

Having Sundin in Montreal would be like marrying a widow that has to sleep with her ex husbands picture on the head board.

I'll agree with that ed. I'm just saying that if he wanted to politely decline Gainey's offer. He could still respectfully do it over the phone.

So meeting him face to face could mean he's saying "thank you for the offer, but my hearts in Toronto" or it could be to further discuss the possibility of Sundin becoming a Hab.

So let's agree to disagree.

Barry has been cheerleading the Canadiens from the start.

It's no guarantee, its just what he is suggesting to his client. He hasn't really made it secret. The only person keeping secrets is Sundin, and even then, I don't even think he is.

Some people need a life and to start worrying about their own teams instead of trolling on the Habs' board every now and again.

But yeah...Isbister was plan B. Dammit.

From the TSN article;

When asked the latest date when Sundin would return to the NHL, Barry provided a rough timeframe.

"January 1, maybe. Not many players would come back after a date like that," Barry told AM640 Radio.

He gave this whole big speech about not wanting to play on a team that hasn't been together since training camp.. how he didn't want to be traded because he wouldn't feel like he was part of the team.

If he doesn't sign with a team before like mid-October.. he's such a hypocrite.

I like how the Mats camp says that “players have come back in the middle of the season before”…Obviously referring to Selanne and Neids. The difference is, they won cups. They did what every true champion wants to do. Neids especially…He’s got nothing left to prove at this point. Sundin hasn’t won jack in the NHL. The guy should be dying to come back and win it all, especially since this might be his last shot to do it.

It's a pretty off-the-cuff remark, reading the quote.. from his agent, not Mats, for crying out loud.

Bourque never asked to be traded,im pretty sure it was the management that approchead him with the idea since the bruins were not doing very well and wouldn't compete for the cup

« Peu importe ce qui se passe, même si je ne joue pas demain ou peu importe, les Leafs seront toujours dans mon cœur », a soutenu Sundin jeudi. « Lorsque je vais me retirer, peu importe ce qui se produit avant, rien ne va changer ça. »

"Self" Translation: Re- Sundin in T.O. today.. «Fellow T.O. fans.. I regret to announce to you that i've decided to sign with the Habs.. Making sure that I wouldn't be blasted today, I've waited for after tonight's charity game to make an announcement.. So I'm going to Montreal over the week-end to end this ********.. Please forgive me as i've sined..»

Sundin seems to be down to Leafs or Canadiens According to Agent

Mods: Please consider not burying this in the megalong "Sundin" thread. I think the news is sufficiently important that it deserves it's own thread (one not 10+ pages of people just joking around).

From TSN: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=2485...=topStory_main

According to Sources, Sundin met with the Leafs administration while in Toronto. The sources also tell TSN that Sundin is scheduled to meet with the Canadiens administration before he returns to Europe on Monday.

The article goes on to quote his agent. On the question of whether it's a question of rejoining the Leafs or retiring his agent replied...

Quote:
"No, I don't think that's the case but I think the decision-making process is down to Toronto and another team because that's the way he's always felt," Barry told AM640 Radio.
That would SEEM to indicate that it's down to the Leafs or Canadiens. I notice as well that there is nothing in there about any meeting with any of the other teams rumoured to be interested. No mention at all of the Flyers, Rangers or even of Vancouver.

Why would he mention the team he already signed with?

HA-HA!

All Sundin speculation, until he's reported to be ready to sign, is a joke.

You know, I just realized something.

Toronto, Montreal, Philly, New York and Vancouver. That's 5 teams.

If Sundin plays 16 games on each team, thats 80 games! Then, he can just choose to play for who makes the playoffs and alternate until theres only one team!

Everybody wins
