Dont look good for the habs...

It is going to be hard for montreal to stay in 8 because they face alot of hard teams over the next 4 weeks.

No one said it was going to be a cake walk.

The habs still hold down a playoff spot in late February which alot of people (including many posters here...at the time...whatever happen to those guys) thought was less likely than us ending up with the first overall pick in the draft, so....

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the rest of the season comes down to tonights game. If we win we'll cruise to that playoff spot & the Rangers will start the firesale. If we lose we'll be in a constant struggle til the end battling the Sabres for #8.

Negative vibrations can't be good... don't despair! Have faith! GO HABS GO!

PS Even if it's tough, cheer for your team, it will help them better than to think they'll have trouble... IMHO

Can't play the Pens every night....the East is a lot tougher this season and we have our west road trip. But I think that the Sabres sched is just as hard, so our destiny is in our hands.

The Sabres next 10 games are murder:

Wed 25 at New Jersey 7:30 PM
Fri 27 NY Islanders 8:00 PM
Sat 28 at Ottawa 7:00 PM
Wed 3 Ottawa 7:00 PM
Sat 6 at Toronto 7:00 PM
Sun 7 St. Louis 6:00 PM
Wed 10 at Washington
Thu 11 Boston 7:00 PM
Sat 13 at Boston
Mon 15 Toronto

but they have a late March stretch after we face them of NYR, CBJ and TWICE the Pens...so even if we have a 5-6 point lead by that time, it won't be over since they'll be facing some bad teams.

Montreal (non-playoff teams in bold)
Week 21: NYR OTT BOS - CAR
Week 22: NJ SJ PHO LA
Week 23: ANA FLA - TOR
Week 24: COL NJ - NJ
Week 25: BUF OTT - BOS
Week 26: NYI - PHI - BUF

Buffalo
Week 21: NJD NYI - OTT
Week 22: OTT TOR - STL
Week 23: WSH BOS - BOS

The schedules seem pretty even to me. I guess it just comes down to the two games we play each other.

Their sched is tough, but they do control their own fate... and they usually play up to their opponent. They will still make the playoffs!!!

Every team always controls its own destiny when you think about it. We HAVE to win the games against the teams chasing us or it's bye-bye until next year (or even longer, depending on the CBA). I really didn't expect much from the boys this year though so being in contention is a bonus for me in truth. Now that we have the chance though I can taste the playoffs...
