What exactly do you mean by "real captain"?

Short answer: yes.

Some leaders are fire and brimstone, some are soft-spoken and lead by example. Drury is the latter. If he doesn't want to drone on to the media about the team, so be it. I don't care as long as the team looks motivated on the ice and comes to play night after night. As long as that's happening, I don't care how it's being done on the inside.

That being said, I think the majority of NHL players (especially on a young team like ours) will respond better to Drury's style of leadership than a guy who is going to flip over a table in the locker room.

And how many of us have been in the locker room to validate this theory?

Just because he doesn't cut WWE-esque promos in interviews means he's not a powerful personality suitable of wearing the C?

wouldn't it be a coaching problem if the team didn't look motivated?

the rangers should rotate the captaincy until somebody emerges...

I'd say it's both. Problems with coaching or captaincy could possibly be offset by one or the other.

I never stated that the two are interchangeable. Nor did I say that you can ride your way to the playoffs on the back of a good captain.

no you said as long as the team looks motivated...

that is not the captains job...the captains job is to talk to the refs...

I don't like Drury, and that's multiplied by a hundred million since he's wearing blue, but he's a captain/leader, no doubt.
