I believe you are correct, especially when it seems like most years its BC/BU in the Beanpot Final.

Sbisa has a goal and 4 assists in 4 games so far for Lethbridge this year.

Bourdon leads the QMJHL in points among defensemen with 16 goals, 39 assists for 55 points in 51 games. Has 110 penalty minutes, good for 2nd in the league among defensemen. Already surpassed his goal total and is 4 points away from his point total last year with 20+ games left. Also 4 PIM away from his total last year as well. Kid is looking like a real steal.

Kevin Marshall has 8 goals, 17 assists for 25 points in 47 games. Also has 82 penalty minutes.

What is Bourdon's ETA to the NHL? 2-3 years? I can't wait to see this kid play, he sounds like he might be a real gem.

Prob next yr with the farm club and maybe a cup of coffee. I wouldn't expect him full time until 2010-11 at the earliest.

JVR had an assist in UHN's 4-4 tie with Providence. The two teams meet again tonight at 7 (EST) in Providence.

MA Bourdon had Rimouski's only regulation goal in a 2-1 SO win over Montreal Juniors. Rimouski plays Bourdon's former team, Rouyn-Noranda, on Sunday the 15th at 4pm(EST).

Lethbridge beat the Kamloops Blazer 2-0 yesterday. Sbisa without points but picked up 2 PIM for tripping in the first period. Also +1 for the game.

Where does he stand among the scoring leaders now? His production hasn't been very good since the WJC, right?

5th, he's been up and down since the WJC and UNH has tanked.

Plus, Wilson has pulled a Richards, no idea he had this much production in him, his entire line is just wrecking people.

Not sure if anyone's interested or not:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=9267 - prospects 1 to 15
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=4084 - prospects 16 to 30

I've also read some independent scouting reports and there's a feeling that Jordan Schroeder is going to continue to drop. I'm wondering if it's possible that the Flyers pull a New Jersey Devils move and trade up to get him. I look at Schroeder and he reminds me so much of Zach Parise. Schroeder would be a great fit on the right side in Philadelphia. I could see a line of him, JVR and Giroux just giving other teams fits.

Speaking of Giroux, looks like he's going to be used in a center role on the team. Probably the most versatile forward we have on the team right now. Can play the wing and center. Hopefully they do the right thing and leave him in one spot where he can learn all the nuances.

I'll also add Zack Kassian to that list. He seems like a bigger version of Tocchet. Can score, fight, not afraid to backcheck. He's also a right winger and he'd be a darned good fit here as well.

Luca Sbisa earned himself a primary assist yesterday as Lethbridge beats the Red Deer Rebels 3-0. He also was +1 for the evening and spent 2 minutes in the box for clearing the puck over the glass.

Also, could somebody tell me why Lethbridge split their goalies yesterday? Certainly not because of the performance as neither let a shot in. Did Metsola get hurt?

I thought this was Marshall's last year in juniors so he should be on the Phantoms next year. 2 Years on the Phantoms with call-ups the 2nd year. Bourdon has another year of juniors left I think (he was just drafted last draft right, unless he was an older draftee, he should be available the same time Sbisa is) so he won't be on the Phantoms until the 2010/2011 season. Expect him to spend one full season in the AHL and most of s 2nd one. Brodrov is the wildcard here. If he comes in next season he'll bumpSbisa, Marshall and Bourdon down the depth chart for a while.

Bourdon is born between September 15 (Draft Deadline) and December 31 (Overager rules in the CHL), because of that he is allowed to play in the AHL one year after his Draft. Holmgren always tries to bring everyone as fast as possible into the organisation, so if Bourdon doesn't disappoint at camp he will be in the AHL next season.

Ok, so he'll be on the same track as Marshall if he has a decent showing in camp next year. Thanks.

Yeah, if Bodrov comes over next year they may decide to leave Bourdon in juniors for another year because we'd be getting awefully crowded on the blueline depth chart. However, they may want to get him here early because they are expecting him to replace Randy Jones after next year. I doubt they are actually planning on this but they may bring him in early for a "just in case".

Looking back on the draft day Eminger trade would you rather have for the team

a) John Carlson/Jacob Markstrom, Steve Downie, TB 4th 09

or

b) Matt Carle, Jacob DeSerres, SJ 3rd

I'd honestly take B (and I know I'm a Carle fanboy).

The deciding factor for me is that Carle is already a top-4 d-man. I know Carlson has his boys on here and he's a great prospect, but right now, Coburn, Carle, Sbisa, Parent, Marshall, and Bourdon are all under 24 years-old.

That brings me to Bourdon. I'm not ready to anoint the guy yet, but it seems like he's going to be the best d-man in the Q for 2 years in a row and most guys that follow the Q on here regard that pick as an absolute steal so far.

As for Markstrom, it's annoying to have missed out on him, but he's at least 2 years away and we have some nice trade chips with guys like Cory Schneider and Enroth who should be available.

Finally with Downie, I think he'll be a great 3rd liner, but it's an affordable sacrifice for us right now, besides, where does he fit on this team? I don't think anybody in their right mind would be playing Downie ahead of Giroux and with guys like Nodl, JVR, and maybe even Matsumoto in the pipeline, it's hard to imagine Downie getting a consistent 15-16 minutes per night here.

I dunno, I'm fine with it, just have to hope that Markstrom doesn't turn into a Vezina winner.

Draft picks are essentially a wash.

Does anyone know why Bourdon and Rinaldo both didn't play in their games last night?

Rinaldo is suspended indefinitely for a checking from behind major. The league is reviewing it and will get around to announcing his suspension later this week. With the OHL's wheel of suspensions, it could be anywhere from 3 to 10 games.
