Bobby Ryan for McDonagh + Weber

Id like to see Montreal try to get something for their deep young D.

McDonagh
Weber
Yemelin
Subban
Valentenko
Fischer

I don't see why Anaheim would be interested.

The Ducks are looking to win the Stanley Cup. Bobby Ryan would be much more helpfull in their efforts to accomplish that goal than would be McDonagh and Weber.

Perhpas Ryan for a defenseman might work. However, it's going to have to be a defenseman that's as NHL ready as Ryan, is equally valuable, and has an equal or lower cap-hit. Even then I don't see the Ducks moving Ryan. Brian Burke loves the kid, and they've spent all of this time developing him. I can't see them giving up on him now.

No, it's fair in terms of trade value. It just doesn't "work" from a Duck's perspective at this point in time.

I don't think either team does this, to be honest.

No deal. Ryan is not available. Ducks are NOT trying to get rid of him!

I think in terms of value it's fair, but i wouldn't do it as a Habs fans since we have too many top 9 fowards a this time...

They don't have much in young talent on the wings either, and without Ryan, there's basically no top-6 potential wingers in the entire Ducks system.

Exactly.
Mitera and Gardiner aren't bad. Mitera is at least a year away and Gardiner is probably three away. Mikkelson, Salcido and Festerling are closer, all may see time this season, but not the same upside. Either way, young D is a concern, but not the most pressing one.

After Ryan, there's a lack of offensively talented forwards in the system. MacMillan has a lot to prove sans Jakub Voracek. Beleskey, Tangradi and O'Dell are maybe the next likely candidates but should probably top out at 2nd line level in the very best situation.

Besides, Anaheim doesn't need Future D talent as much as it needs Now D talent with the majority of the blue line scheduled for UFA status at the end of the season.

Ducks are fine with defensive depth. Festerling is a perfect example. He wasn't expected to do anything this year, but here he is pretty much making the team. Then we have Salcido, Mikkelson, Mitera, Gardiner, etc.

And like I've said a billion times - Bobby Ryan will NOT be traded as long as Burke is around.

Montreal doesn't touch that. No need for more wingers while trading two of the best D prospect they have and will need in the near future.

Anaheim doesn't touch it either. Ryan is a player they need and will need. Trading him would create a huge hole.

We can't even fit D'Agostini and most likely Pacioretty on our team, so it makes no sense for us. If a young center with high upside was available, then that would be appealing.

I love these type of offers. Doesn't work for either team and neither team would do it. Not only that, but both teams fanbases loves the player too much to give it up for one or the other.

No the ducks do have some good young dmen, most of the hockey world just doesn't know about them. the ducks haven't cultivated Ryan for 3 years to go off and trade him for another prospect.

It's not like "Dandenault and a 2nd for Ryan" It's kinda close, I guess. Not something completely ridiculous.

I certainly know that Montreal wouldn't be interested. Both McDonaugh and Weber could be as good as Ryan, so that would almost be like paying double the value! No way.

No he would laugh. Cause who the heck does he replace Ryan with? There would be absolutely no point in making this deal for Anaheim.

Im not saying Montreal would do it, im well aware of both teams positions.
