He is one of the posters that invited me to come over to HF Boards form the old ESPN Boards, back when I first became a Bruins fan. As some have already said, 50 is just way too young. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I'l lmiss you, buddy.

Randy, thank you for passing along the terrible news. I knew you and he went back some, and he always spoke very highly of you. Man oh man. I was just wondering why Terry hadn't returned my last several emails to him/ it would have been very uncharacteristic of him. Terry and I were allies from day one. We had lots in common; both media guys, both Bruins fans. In fact I worked for Terry's dad Lou when I first got started in radio in Leamington, Ontario, at CHYR (Cheer Radio). Lou was a classy ole silver fox who smoked those black Moore cigarettes, and always kept his cool. Terry introduced himself to me 10 years ago as Lou's boy, and we've stayed in touch ever since. Man, this is very sad news. I've lost my board brother. This season is for Backin in my books.

RIP and I offer my condolences to his family.... I as well never met the man but had some good discussions as he was very loyal to the Bruins as I am to the Habs....

The world lost a great poster, a great B's fan, and a great person. May he truly rest in peace.

Unreal...

It sure puts a little perspective in this internet chat room doesn't it? We are not just a bunch of avatars chatting about a common interest. We are a family of people who care for each other and fight with each other, just like family. In the end though, when we loose one, we are all pained.

May God bless you Terry and give your family strength through these tough times.

4,072 posts. Kinda weird how it ended on 72.

Wow.
You lose contact with reality when you post on messageboards, blurring the lines between reality and the actual lives of the people you post with.
News like this is shocking.
Condolences to Backin's family and friends.
May he rest in piece.

There are some people whose opinions are always worth their weight in sand, whether you agree with them or not.

I never knew him as an individual or even through private messages, but I respected what he had to say every time. May he RIP.

RIP Backin. I wondered where he went, unfortunately where he went was the worst possible scenario. I enjoyed reading all of his posts. Was a great poster here, and from what I read he was a great man off HF as well.

RIP Backin. God's LF contingent picked up a great poster.

This place is amazing, I'm in tears about a guy who I've never met, but shared a passion with about the B's. This is a sad day.

Randy, thanks for posting this.

Although he and I clashed early on we certainly came to have mutual respect for each other over the past few years. He was a valued contributor to our community here and sounded like a fine human. He will be missed.

My true condolences to all those who were close to him. Awful news.

Very sad news to hear...replied to a few of his posts but, still being fairly new here, never really got the chance to know him.

RIP and condolences to his family

You are missed my friend.

There's not much one can say when they don't know someone personally, but in viewing his thoughts and ideals here you feel like knew the person very well indeed. Deeply saddened by the passing of such a great guy, one of the best here.

Rip.

I know how you feel. I get comments about how crazy I am posting here. But, you are right this place is like an extended family. We help each other out when we are in need!

I woke up this morning...and still can't beleive he is gone.

As for sending this tribute to his family....... I wonder if we found out the furneral home he was sent to..we could print these sheets out and mail them with a note to the director to give them to his wife?
