I picked Nilsson, but I'd take Steen over him currently.

Steen had more goals in his rookie season than Nilsson has in his entire career.

Pretty much this. Steens two-way play is the deal breaker.

Steen is the all around better player. I think Nilsson has better offensive skills but i like Steens game more.

Nilsson under-rated defensive play, Steen's offensive game is really over-rated

What is overrated about Steen's offensive game? He put up the same ES/SH points as Nilsson did. He had more PP points despite playing on the PP 30 seconds less per game.

Steen had more ES goals than Nilsson did in all situations last season.

Pretty much

I'm still waiting for me to breakout tho

I think this is the year he will

Anyways to get back to the poll,I picked Steen based on his 2-way play

Get over the goals. Nilsson is the farthest thing from a goalscorer you can get while being considered an offensive player. He's purely a playmaker....and his defensive game is very good. He can be considered a 2-way player....besides, I don't see whats so earth shattering about Steen's 15 goals.

In the end Nilsson had 1 less point that Steen while playing 5 less games, being a year younger and having almost half the NHL experience as Steen.

wtf did you just say? Typical stuff on this board, even though the leaf player is better, people pick the other guy just because he isn't a leaf.

I picked Nilsson because he will be the more dominant player in the future . But I said I would prefer Steen over him right now.

My vote can sway both ways.

How exactly is Steen better? Nilsson played slightly better offensively. Had a better Plus Minus, and really improved significantly in his game.

Steen has played 3 seasons and his season high so far is 45 Points, last year was Nilsson's second season, he put up 42 Points.

I don't get it. You just throw it out there and that makes it true? "Nothing" like Steen? I may be a little biased since Nilsson plays for the Oilers but I don't have him in my avatar.

You obviously haven't watched Steen defensively

He's very good at putting his stick in the lanes and blocking shots and can backcheck pretty good

Anyways whatever I don't care

If Nilsson was at that level defensively, he would be used on the PK (nevermind run the first unit).
