Predators' Rookies:

Patric Hornqvist, LW/C
Mark Santorelli, LW/C
Ryan Jones, RW
Brandon Buck, C
Ian McKenzie, F
Linus Videll, RW
Teemu Laakso, D
Robert Dietrich, D
Craig Switzer, D
Mark Dekanich, G

So the rookie squad needs an extra defenseman who would also be filling a hole on the second pairing in Milwaukee... Roman Josi, perhaps?

Hornqvist/Santorelli-Santorelli/Hornqvist-Jones
McKenzie-Buck-Videll

Laakso-Josi
Dietrich-Switzer

Dekanich

I don't think we signed Brandon Buck...I believe he was just a FA invite to prospect camp. Also, I don't think Switzer is our property anymore...and have we seen any confirmation that Laakso is coming over this year?

Don't overlook Switzer. He had a good college career, and he is very good with the puck. He isn't a top prospect or anything close to it, but he could, if the chips fall right, make it for a few years in the NHL.

I don't know if his ATO is still in effect, but technically he's a free agent, as the article states we had 30 days after his college career ended to sign him, which we did not.

Thanks for the update. I forgot about that rule. I suspect the ATO has been extended or is still in effect if he is coming to camp.

Is he, though? I haven't seen anything about him, prior to WFME's projected Milwaukee lines.

I haven't heard anything confirming his attendance at camp, but I would certainly HOPE he's coming; otherwise, Matheson is gonna be regular in Milwaukee's lineup next fall...

I know he signed an ATO and was on the Admirals' roster, but I don't know if we ever actually signed him. Have we signed Dekanich either?

Yes, Dekanich was signed to an entry level contract last season after his collegiate career expired.

Yes, Hockey Fights is the first link to come up with his signing...

I haven't seen any times or rosters posted yet. Do these usually come out in the following week or so?

No, sadly... he still has a year left on his contract in Sweden and he would end up in Milwaukee to start the year so it's not really worth buying out that last year. We might have a tentative agreement that he signs next May/June, though, when his contract runs out. And that would be frickin' sweet because he's drawn comparisons to Franzen.

I don't know if my confirmation is good enough, but I can confirm it. In fact, he already left about 5 hours ago, according to his brother (also, some people saw him with Pekka Rinne at the airport). And yes, he's coming over to stay this time. At least for the duration of his contract (next two seasons). Even if he is to spend the whole two years in the AHL.
