Great throw by Werth.

Not really liking where this game is going, however

took 4 of 6 off the Braves in recent games and abused them this year...to be expected.

I can't say I'm very pleased with Myers' last 2 starts. His fastball looks as dead as it did prior to his minor league stint (under 90 mph and no movement).

I could have sworn he was clocked at 93 a few times when I looked.

Maybe on a couple, but not consistently. Either way, with no movement it's irrelevant.

harder you throw, the tougher it is to get movement. his location was brutal at times, which is more the problem than movement or no movement. you put a flat 93 mph fastball on the black outside corner and down, nobody is hitting that with regularity.

it's possible Myers is feeling the effects of throwing a lot of innings lately and the short-rest starts on top of that.

So what, it's 2 wins to clinch now?

Tonights Mets vs Cubs pitching matchup...

Rich Harden vs Pedro Martinez

Harden is 5-0 in his last 8 starts and the team has won all 8 games. He has given up 2 runs or less in every game but one with the Cubs. He has lost just 1 game with the Cubs and even in that game he went 7 innings and let up 1 run.

Pedro has lost his last 3 starts and has let up 4 or more runs 5 of the last 6 games. In that month long span he has over a 6.50 ERA.

I didnt say a thing about the outcome of the game. Just throwing out some MSE type stats. From those stats i dont know who should have the advantage.

*Edited for shame

Meanwhile, defending a comfortable 600-0 lead in the top of ninth, the Mets decided to rest up Carlos Voltron by moving him to the outfield and replacing him with reliever Aaron Heilman, who lost the lead and eventually the game after giving up 618 runs to close the inning.

My goal is the Division, but I'll take a playoff berth also.

I also enjoyed the one about the drug-dealer who was disappointed Josh Hamilton didn't reach his full potential as a drug addict.

Cubs are winning 6-4 top of the 8th.

Brewers / Pirates tied in the fifth.

Followed by epic fail by the Cubs. I really hope they get destroyed in the playoffs. ******** just ruined my night.
