For those who talk about respect, just look at the otehr scores, the goal differential counts and all the other team won by a good margin, so with a +82 in that game Slovakia insures that if another beating is given in that round let's say Italia gets destroyed 35-0 by another team, they still can fight for the first spot in the standings of that group and qualify.

IMO the problem is that Bulgaria should not have been part of that qualifier. It's not like only the Slovaks destroyed them. They allowed a whooping 192 goals in 4 games, losing 41-0 against Italy, 30-1 against Croatia and 39-0 against Latvia

Moral Victory

You guessed wrong. Sweden won against USA to go in the finals.

I remember that. It was huge. It was the first time it wasn't a US and Canada team final. It was a great step for women hockey.

It's disrespect for the game. How can a team getting scored every 44 seconds can be allowed to have a shot at the Olympics. Under these circumstances I don't think Womens Hockey should be an olympic sport.

This is a qualifier.... Bulgaria will not move on to the next round... They will not be in the olympics.

Really a mens game between Slovakia's best; ie Gaborik, Hossa, Chara, and other NHLers and Bulgaria's best (true Bulgarians, no bringing in Junior A canadians with bulgarian parents)... would probably be a 30 or 40 goal game too if the NHLers didn't ease up.

they are not exactly a hockey nation and there is no way that they will advance beyond this round.

In fact I don't know why they are even in this round.

What level are they at in Men's.... are they even in the C Level World Championships??

up to 99 is alright. After that it's a lack of respect to the scoreboard.

the coach finally changed the goalie after it was 77-0 only to see the backup let in 5 goals in 5 shots

Actually IIRC from the box score the last couple of goals were empty-netters, I guess they changed at 75-0 or something.

I also note that Slovakia got penalty shots as Bulgaria was penalized for "delay of game". Penalty shots?

" The first Bulgarian goalkeeper Lyubomira Shosheva managed to save 200 of the total of 367 shots on goal. The second goalkeeper, the 16-year-old Kameliya Drazheva received 25 goals. "

It should read 200 of 267 shots.... if it was 367 they would have scored 167
