Who will be the first to leave?

Alright with the game 4-1 with a little less than half to go in the 3rd period I'm assuming this game is over. Actually it's not an assumption it's more of a probable truth.
According to what all everyone's heard there may be a firesale starting tomorrow.

So what's everyone's guess on the first Ranger to be traded and to whom?

My guess is Kovalev is gone and he'll become part of the Red Arm.... I mean Detroit Redwings. JD said one of Detroits top scouts is at the game tonight and that they're looking for a top 6 forward.

Kovalev would fly in the West.... I dont know what they have to deal in terms of youth though.

How long until a Wings fan shows up offering us Dandenault?

I'll say Kovalev then Mironov. Leetch will stay, Nedved might be a deadline deal.

If Sather weren't 'coaching' this game..

he'd be traded by now. Time to bring new blood in to witness the Rangers-Islanders rivalry right away - to develop the hate - and to fight next season.

Kovalev would likely succeed wherever he goes. I think many can thrive outside New York, even Mironov, on a third pairing.

I think it will be Simon for a pick/s. He is going to ask way too much at first for Kovalev for anyone to bite.

The first to leave will be the playoff invoices and once the Rangers receive some of the payments, then they'll start trading players.

Hmm, maybe we can get Hudler out of Detroit?

Send them Kovalev and Mironov?

I can think of better packages, wasn't overly impressed with Hudler the one game I saw. He is small and weak. I would rather take added picks then group Kovalev and Mironov in a package.

Am I totally offbase here to think Nedved stays? I mean your stuck with Jagr for a couple years and to make JAgr happy and contributing you need a talented center to play with him. Holik and Lundmark are nice but I think Nedved stays to play with Jagr.

Offbase?

Probably not offbase. But, at this point, I'm not sure that building a line around Nedved would be such a good idea. Maybe it would be better to find a young centerman who could grow into an impact player.

Yes, His indifferent play annoys the heck out of me. If you can get something go for it.

I think that Simon Barnaby or Rucinsky will be the first to go.

If Barnaby and Rucinsky love New York and being a Ranger as much as they seem to, I would be more than happy to explore a contract over the season. Right now, they can help this team by becoming picks and prospects.

Unless the Rangers Eat some salary with every player traded. Only Kovalev could be moved. Everyone else is too expensive and have too long term contracts. For Kovalev your going to get a good prospect and a 2nd round pick. That's all.

Jiri Hudler & 2nd Round pick to NYR for Kovalev and Purinton??
