Bradley's UFC debut didn't exactly go very well for him. Mind you that was at welterweight and from what I've read he's a better fighter than that fight showed. I'd still go with Lauzon though.

My picks:

Diaz over Neer -- decision or late sub
Danzig over Guida -- decision or late sub as well, after scoring often in the standup
Herman over Belcher - Sub rd 2
Alexander over Shafer via face punching -- either this or Shafer by sub. Hard to tell since both guys have glaring weaknesses, it's just a matter of which gets exposed first.
Lauzon over Bradley -- TKO rd 2
Gouveia over Jensen -- TKO rd 1

don't really care about the others

It'll be the same format as last season: 32 fighters to start, with 16 being eliminated in the first two episodes from fights.

Not the greatest of talent in the card, but it's setting up to be an exciting one.

Guida, Danzig, Diaz, and Neer are all going to bring it, that you can count one. Hopefully we get to see Lauzon too, one of the best fighters on the card. Should be a fun card to watch with 16 fights on the TUF 8 opener.

Lauzon is pulling -900 right now! Haha I don't think I've ever seen odds that high before.! Bradley has some pretty sweet odds at +500 if you're willing to take the risk.

I remember Fedor being something like -1200 at one point before his fight against Zulu.

I want to say +900.

Lil Noguiera/Sokudjou had similar odds. Something like -1100 and +800 (I distinctly remember Sokudjou at +800 since I had $5 on him ).

Wow that's pretty crazy odds on Soku, quick way to turn $5 into $40 geez.

Was just a so-so card, but that's what the expectation was, really.

As for the TUF episode...

Krzysztoff looked really good for his first tough appearance, so did the blonde kid.

The Guida and Evans brothers disappointed.

And what was up with Jose: "I belong with Napoleon, dog. Hitler, dude." Get the **** out of here...

appreciate the support from you guys. if you think you get nervous when your son is playing peewee hockey or little league baseball, it's about 1000 times as rough watching them climb in a cage.

spike actually notified shane this week his fight would be shown in week two, so we weren't surprised he wasn't one of the fights tonight.

fun night here though. he flew home and had about 200-300 friends and bunches of fighters from his old gym watching the first show in a local sports bar here. shame is he has to fly out tomorrow to tampa to get back to training for his next fight so he didn't get to be at home when they show his first fight here on TUF.

was still a good night.

I thought it was a good card. all the fights were pretty competitive except for the Schafer/Alexander.

the tuff episode was real good...should be a great season with Mir and Nog...they both looked really into it, especially Mir.

yah, saying he was a straight up criminal dog...lmao, what a tool. you just knew that kid was going to get his ass kicked. he even made a bigger fool of himself by quiting...then walking out making more excuses. just goes to show ya, there are some real nitwits out there.

For some reason there's something about Mir that rubs me the wrong way. I dunno if it's the obnoxious facial hair or what but every time he's onscreen just makes me hope that Nog taps him out in December even more.

edit: Lauzon vs Bradley up on UFC.com right now: http://www.ufc.com/

I have the same feelings, I don't know what it is about Mir, but I don't really like him either, seems like a snake (plus his hair sucks).

I was really happy to see Clay dominate Mac like he did, hopefully all that gatekeeper BS goes away now. He has done very well in the UFC, IMO, even in his losses. He had the posterboy in big big trouble and just got caught and the decision loss to Griffin was pure BS, Clay won that fight.

I hope they add him to his hometown card in Chicago, who could he fight?

On the TUF front, as someone else already stated, I was very impressed with the kid with the bleached blonde hair and Krystoff looked awesome, hopefully that hunger stays with him.

Alan Belcher is a friggen ****** bag. At the beginning of the fight i wanted him to KO Herman who I dont like at all. By the third period I was hoping Herman would at least bloody up Belchers face. The guy clearly had the advantage in the striking game. In the second round he looked totally able to completely pick apart Herman. Instead he would disengage and did a bit of showboating. Belcher could have easily put Herman away in that fight but apparently found it more important to dance around and almost lose a decision.

I dunno if I'd call him a snake, he seems like a stand-up guy but I think he's just too in love with his own voice. Though I will give him credit for doing his best to help that useless lump Jason Guida, including stretching out his leg with Guida's junk flapping around a few feet away. Though the hair/goatee is still unforgivable.

-----------------------------------

From last night's UFN, I bring you the fruitiest post-win celebration ever:

It was a pretty sweet KO though, in all fairness. Though I still don't think much of Sakara as a fighter at the UFC level.

I don't know, I get the same vibe from him that I got from Hughes. I have the feeling that the more I see him, the less I'll like him. I hope he turns out to be a "stand-up" guy, I just have my doubts.
