This is a weak year for Americans for sure, lacks soem of that size and offesnive punch in the past couple of years. One late 93 is Justin Selman, smooth skater, responsible in all zones and very good with the puck. Has grown to arund 6 feet and looks to be a solid prospect. A 94 from nj named Nick Ebert has drawn many scouts' attention. He is big already at 6 feet, but could grow some more, which would obviously be nice. His shot and physicality is what separates him in my opinion, has played up wiht 93s his whole life and has been touted as one of the best 93 players, even though he is a 94. Extremely talented young man.

Watch for Grigorenko here, he is exceptional and could be considered the early #1 for the NHL draft for 2012, although it is still too early to tell, but as of now every single NHL club is already aware of him.

Interesting to see Jordan Schwartz got taken by the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL Draft a couple of hours ago. He's already committed to NCAA right?

He'll be good, but he's not anywhere near some of the other top prospect defenseman that have come from the US in recent years.
I agree with this statemenet and his long term potential is not that great, he could still turn out to be a tremendous prospect though. I have heard from a reliable source that Nick Ebert, a 94 6 feet 170 pound d man has "the makings of a future first rounder." He has played up a year his whole life and has one of the hardest shots I have seen in a long time. Rumor has it however that he may quit hockey as he is equally talented at baseball and does compete in the Select camps because of this. The other kid, a 94, to committ is Ian Spencer, USHR has compared him to a Kevin Shattenkirk. I don't know how much potential Specner has but he is a very talented player too.

You mean the Quinte Red Devils, they play out of Belleville, Trenton, Marmora and Madoc. Bolton is decent, nothing special though, probably not worth mentioning on an NHL prospect thread. I don't think you'll see more than one or two guys from that Quinte at that age level get drafted into the OHL.

What do you guys from the LA Selects teams for 93s and 94s and 95s. I played against the 95s and know some 94s and 93s.

Does anyone know if there is anyone worth watching from the Waterloo Wolves AAA team? I'm not sure how good they are anymore but the '91 Bantam AAA was very good with 6+ players being drafted to the OHL, just curious if we're going to be anywhere near that good anytime soon.

winter hawks signed '94 born american prospect Josh Hanson. Will play next season with the LA selects.

Anyone have any report on him? Hawks coach said he was "first round talent" but feel into the later rounds because of questions over the NCAA. I'll get to see the winter hawks training camp soon so i'll be able to post some thoughts. Also of interest is derrick pouloit who the hawks drafted first overall. Coach Mike Johnston seems to feel hanson is close to him in skill level and both will be fixtures for the hawks...we'll see I guess.

What about Travis Boyd From Hopkins Minnesota? played his 8th and 9th grade years of High School hockey on Hopkins first line putting up insane points against great competition. Commited to the University of Minnesota in the last 2 weeks and is headed out to Ann Arbor starting in the fall, I havent see his name on here yet, he is a 93 born player

He's eligible for the '11 draft.

I have been bringing up and I suppose you could say hyping Martin Frk on here so I figured i would give a update on him.
He played at the under 17 five nations cup at the end of August and led the team in goals and assists.
4 games - 5 goals - 3 assists - 8 points...of note he scored in every game.
I also beleive he led the tournament in goals and points but I havent been able to find stats for the American and German teams though I doubt anyone came close.

Having said this I didnt see the tournament in person so all I have is stats to go on, which are yet again impressive.. If anyone saw this tournament then some observations of his play would be great.

Also his official height and weight for his junior team have been updated.
he is listed now at 182cm (5'11.65) and 85kg (187lbs).
Not bad for 15 years old (turns 16 October 5th).

I have high hopes for him, and he already tore up juniors last year in his 16 games with them so lets hope he kicks it up another notch this year as a 15/16 year old.

here is a video of the USA vs Czech game Martin Frk scores at the 14:10 min mark (#8), so you can hopefully pick him out after that as he does stand out. There are links to the other periods and other games if anyone is interested.
