Mats Sundin-Part XII-The Chapter After the Last

Well, the other one was full, so I'm sure the mods will be closing it soon. Carry on with the nonsense.

This was too good, so it had to be on the first page of this thread.

"I will not make up my mind before the season starts," Sundin told a news conference Wednesday. "That's how I feel right now. Others have started playing in the middle of the season. If I would feel like retiring I would say it."

i'm an understanding person, and it's his own choice, but does someone really need 6 months to make their decision on something?

Sundin is now celebrity ambassadors for one of the largest internet pokersites.

Can active player be sponsored by a poker site? I guess Bettman wouldn't like that...

I don't want Sundin now anyways. He said in an interview on TV that he hasn't skated all summer and that he is in shape, but not as good of shape as he was last off-season. At 37 years old, you have to workout all the time and exercise regularly. From the sounds of it, Sundin had a good summer and didn't worry much about working out.

Hockey icon and former Toronto Maple Leaf captain Mats Sundin has just joined PokerStars as one of its international celebrity ambassadors. You'll soon see him both online at PokerStars under the name “MatsSundin” and live at PokerStars-sponsored events, including on the European Poker Tour which kicks off next week in Barcelona.

True but if we are to sign him which I doubt anyways I would rather him sign now not in shape, work with the guys in October and November and be 100% the rest of the way.I wouldn't want him to join the team halfway in the season like the Ducks did last year

**** it's not hard to understand. Right now, at the moment I wrote, he's not mentally ready to play. Unlike other professional players who retire then regrets it, Sundin probably knows he'll get the urge to play again somewhere during the season. One thing is sure, he'll play again. No one knows when.

Well you cant attend Poker events during NHL season can you?

Id say time to shut the thread down .

Hopefully we dont read in 5 or 10 years how Sundin lost all his money gambling .Its happened to people considered much smart than he.

He would rather play poker than an opportunity at the Stanley Cup. God knows he never had it with the Leafs and Nords.
The Cup for him means nothing and never has. Habs dont need a loser like that on the team.

Well, at least he's got his priorities straight.

I wonder when PokerStars asked him to be a spokesman? 3 years ago?

He must have really struggled with that decision.
