I'm not much a fan either. The first thing that turned me off was that a particular extension or two that I use don't have a ff3 version yet (not Mozilla's fault, I'm aware), but there was something else I can't seem to remember. I'm not a fan of the awesome bar (is there a way to roll that back to the classic kind of thing?) either. I'm sticking with ff2 until ff3 or chrome get closer to the way I like things. It's slowish but it does the job I want it to.
I absolutely love it. Sounds like you just need to customize it more to your liking.
Get a new theme for sure. I use NASA Night Launch, which gives me a sexy black background. Also, grab WOT (web of trust), its a great little program that uses user votes on sites to see if its safe or has trojans or malware.
Not sure where all the problems are comming from, Ive yet to have it crash on me and Ive had it for awhile now.
i don't want to customize it to my liking. i don't use a browser for it to look pretty. all i want it to be is smooth and decent. viruses and spyware and the rest of the like haven't ever been a problem for me with firefox, and i don't think it's any faster than the older version.
i'm mostly pissed about how they dumbed it down (buttons, drop bar, menus, download box), which i'm sure was probably an effort to get more users who were accustomed to ie. it just looks stupid, and in turn, isn't as smooth to use.
Well i mean I wouldn't go that far, I really like firefox 2 but it uses way more ram than it probably should. But really that all I want them to change at this time.
Probably true, but from what I can tell, FF3 and Chrome aren't much better. Excessive RAM usage is always going to be a problem when you let amateurs make the plugins. Besides, are you really doing so much while browsing that you can't spare the 50 extra megs it uses?
