I hope you're right. I know so little about him, so I can't really comment on what role he'll play for us. I'm hoping he's a player though.

Real interested in seeing if he has the hands to really do some things. Lemaire obviously seen something so that is a nice thing. If he can grow offensively then we may actually have a good 3rd liner here. Plus, a guy who just loves being a Ranger and cares a great deal about the logo on the front of the jersey.

New Voros Interview On Nyr.com

I tell you after watching his interview on the Rangers website, I'm even more excited about him now.

He carries himself well and I really like his attitude at how he's going to attack the upcoming season.

Seems like a character guy from what I can see...Let's see what he can do on the ice now.

-Brian

If he can replace Avery (scoring, baiting, pest) then I think this works out great for us and solves this top six talk...

Voros looks friggin' beefed up (muscled up) in those golf pictures. The guy looks to have really bulked up for this upcoming season.

From what I have read

From what I have read, he was originally a 3rd liner who was playing on the first line by the seasons end.

Sounds like Avery....good job Slats!!!!

I don't think we'll see Voros getting top line minutes this year. Maybe 3rd, definitely 4th line minutes. Boosting a 3rd liner to play with Jagr or Gaborik can work out well sometimes however I don't foresee it working with what appears will be some combo of Naslund, Gomez or Zherdev as our top line. I am excited to see what he can do.

If they want more scoring on the 4th line yet still keeping some toughness then Voros is the better option over Orr

Voros is here to stay he is 27 and signed a 3 yr deal

Colton Orr is a trooper but is a FA next yr and they don't need them both

Sjostrom ,Betts, Voros
Rissmiller and Orr ready if injury occurs or someone stinks

I beg to differ. Voros is incapable of doing what Orr does. If Voros could actually fight then while I do really like Colton, it would be obvious to replace him with Aaron.

A side note, according to Blueshirt Bulletin Sjo appears to be playing himself out of the NHL and into the AHL.

Aaron is like a more skilled Hollweg. He tries to fight but isnt the greatest at it, but he has better hands, a better shot, and is a much, much better hitter.

I thought Sjostrom has the most potential on the team

A career minor leaguer who comes out of nowhere for a bad team and we sign him for three years.

He'll be a solid fourth liner, but I can already see that we're overrated his talents a little around here.

Frankly I thought Byers looked better (at a younger age) in the minors playing the exact role we expect of Voros. Plus I felt he was a better fighter.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play, and lets how he can get things done for us. Nice to see him getting to play for his favorite childhood team. I see him becoming a fan favorite.

You'll quickly become a fan of his by the 5th game he plays. The guy was a fan favorite when he was with the Devils minor league team. Picture Voros being a mix between Avery & Hollweg.

And as one of you mentioned, he did beef up. That was one of his problems when he was with us. He's 6'3" but only weighed around 185 lbs. He need to get up/over 200 lbs. Which if he did, he'll be able to take on (and fair better) with scrappers his size.

I was sad to see him get traded. Enjoy him.

He has looked good so far tonight. He's gotten into people's face...as the announcer just said, he hasn't been afraid to knock down anoyone who has gotten in his way so far.
Add to that a couple scoring opportunities...I have to say he's going to be great for the Rangers!

Voros looked great tonight and has an early lead on one of the bottom 6 spots at winger as far as I'm concerned.

Can't disagree.

The Rangers need that guy to go to the net, and its becoming apparent why they gave him 3 years.

agreed and its not just that....its that he has no hesitation to go into the tough areas which makes other players have confidence to do the same thing....he gets knocked down and gets right back up and he battles constantly

Exactly what they were saying on the broadcast. He just has no fear and doesn't care if he gets knocked on this ass. This guy is going to make some big plays for them this year
