Semin will be playing in tonight's game versus the New York Rangers
Here's how it was reported, sounds to me like it is likely, but still a game time decision
"*It also looks like Alexander Semin will return from a six-game absence because of a back injury. He skated this morning and apparently feels good enough to give it a shot. Coach Bruce Boudreau said he's going to take the pre-game warmup before deciding for sure. Just in case, Boudreau told Alexandre Giroux to come off the ice. He was just about to start skating hard, the way scratches do on game days." source: http://blog.washingtonpost.com/capitalsinsider/
Injury update regarding Caps players and prospects for those doing us all a favor and checking this thread instead of starting new ones
Pothier (D) : LTIR, skating with the team, not cleared for play
Clark (RW) : LTIR, surgery
Johnson (G): LTIR, hip surgery planned link
Kozlov (RW): Day to day
Varlamov: as of 2/6 article by Leone: "Varlamov is expected to be out at least two more weeks." link
posted on 2/3 on OFB - translated interview:
Varlamov: "I am not playing right now because of the knee ligaments injury. The injury is not serious, but I have already missed a week and a half because of it." link and per Tarik EB "And Neuvirth was recalled because Simeon Varlamov, the organization's top goaltending prospect, is sidelined with a knee injury."
Pokulok reportedly skated earlier this week; last game played was on 1/17
I want to know how many points can he put in the big league ?
Will he be a 2nd line or maybe he have the chance to be a finisher of 1st line ?
Who knows. He could be topped out where he is (looks like he might already be a 30/50 guy if healthy, almost), or he could be the next Bondra for us. Tough to say, really. I think he can do more personally as he gets stronger.
Safely on the second line as long as he's here. It'll be tough to crack the first, though, because he hasn't yet been shifted to RW (other than the PP), and Ovie's not going to shift.
And if you've been reading thehockeynews, don't worry, you're not getting Flash for Schneider
Honestly THN is terrible on predicting drafts/trades. They never get it right, beyond the obvious top 10's in the draft. There are more reliable posters on HF than THN when it comes to predicting trades. Also on a side note, they are absolutely garbage at ranking the euro prospects in their draft special. I don't think they have scouts/contacts for them, I think they just simply make their lists up. Tikhonov's name was not even in the draft special, yet he went in the first. Pierre Mquire even new that Tikhs was going to go early. TSN has always been reliable, I just wish that THN would put more effort into these sort of things.
apologies for the rant, but it was necessary.
Currently sitting in first in three leagues, second in one, and fifth (though usually 7th or 8th) in the other.
Highlights include coming from 14 pts back two weeks ago to lead one league, with the bulk of the work done in tightly-bunched G and SOG categories (who knew picking up Marc-Andre Bergeron to make up some missed D games would work so well?), and overcoming some crazy injuries in Langway's keeper league to hold down second. At one point recently (though very briefly) I had eight players on IR: Vanek, Bertuzzi, Gaborik, Sharp, B. Richards, Brassard, Sturm, and E. Johnson. Granted, the last three are only still on the team because it's a keeper league.
to the person that asked the Green question, he missed the game reportedly with the flu, he is day to day
not a good FH season for me; I have high standards! 2 7th place finishes stinks, although I am competing in my other League; 1 7th place finish was by 1 point; missing the playoffs in 2 of 3 leagues
Injuries did my teams in this season, starting with Brodeur on IR for most of the season; first time ever in a dynasty league and I did so so, missing out by 1 point on a team I inherited and I am trying to rebuild, so there is good and bad regarding that one. Interesting playing dynasty for the first time although I imagine it is different when you have a say in the original League draft to build the team.
I played a one and done Yahoo league, and struggled all year with forwards underperforming. Then I finally get things together for the stretch run. I go 28-4 over the last 3 weeks and missed the last playoff spot by 2 freaking points. Ugh.
Why couldn't Jokinen play in Phoenix like he has in Calgary?
Any interest on here in getting a quick NCAA pool among us Caps' HF boardies?

It's okay to blame Nylander for that one.
It's definitely a lot different taking over a dynasty team rather than being there from the ground floor. I'm thinking of maybe creating a 20-team dynasty league with farm teams for next season and I'll probably post here if and when that happens.
